Cripple Creek's Shadow RV and Cabin
We had a wonderful stay at this location! The property is absolutely beautiful - amazing views, wooded with so many birds and wildlife, breath taking views of the stars at night, and very private and peaceful. Dan was very communicative and helpful before our stay. It was also great to have a burner stove with propane all set up, ready to be used for camp cooking. We were able to check out several of the nearby sites which were really neat.
The only downside we had was that there was a dog barking on and off all night both nights from a nearby property - might want to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper and won't be sleeping in the RV which blocked out the barking.
We would love to stay again - we are already missing this peaceful and beautiful spot! Would recommend a stay here.

We will be coming back!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this location, wish we could have stayed longer. Our doggies had tons of room to run around and be free. The view from the shack is incredible at any time of day or night, also the outdoor compost toilet was great and clean (no smells). On location spot to play horseshoes and multiple ares to make a campfire. This is a perfect place to get away from the city and be outdoors enjoying nature and silence. The owner is right down the road if you need anything but gives you complete privacy during your whole stay. The night sky is incredible and the stars are many and bright! I highly recommend this to anyone who is seeking a very comfortable camping experience and to find their Zen in the wild.

Could be so much better
On the whole, we liked the area. Off the beaten path of traffic, and a central hub for Divide, Cripple Creek and Guffy. BUT, be advised that the cooking area (shed) is located down from the eating area(RV) so there is a lot of hauling up and down the rocky incline of your food, cooking utensils, table, water, etc., from the upper parking spot to the lower shed where the 2-burner stove is.
The RV made for comfortable sleeping for our party of 2, but if you are sensitive to strong scents, the RV is probably not for you. There was a very strong odor of air or carpet freshener inside the RV.
We loved having a fire each night, and there was a generous amount of split wood available to use. But the free standing fire pit needs replaced as it is more of a fire hazard than anything.
Lastly, the compost toilet was awesome, which is a weird description for such a thing. But it offered privacy, and there were no outhouse odors at all.
With some changes, the site would be somewhere I would rent again but unfortunately not the way it is right now.
The host, tho nearby, gave us our privacy. And we definitely were able to unwind from the noise and commotion of Denver, so we did have an enjoyable stay,

Pretty and Clean Mountain Getaway
Entire site- including RV and cabin- were so clean! And views of the hills and sunsets from the cabin deck are truly so gorgeous! You can hear the occasional neighbor, dogs, and cars, but otherwise quiet. Loved all the thoughtful touches like the propane stove and TP. Thanks for sharing your space!
