Camp Summit
I used this site for a base camp to explore the many sites within a few hours drive...that worked out great. I agree with all the previous comments about this site. It is a unique location and not like most "campsites"

Great home base for Durango trip
Only our second HipCamp experience, but IMO this place is ideal! Friendly and courteous host (Benjamin came and introduced himself), lovely view, full hook-ups, super private, a gate closes off his road. The site had a wee slant to it but we didn’t even correct with our levelers it was so slight. Enough room for our long bed truck + 18 foot tear drop trailer all on the same level, one could stay hooked up no problem. We slept like babies. A wee bit of road noise but that’s to be expected only 10 minutes to town, bike trails, great food. I would feel 100% safe here as a solo female traveler too. We’ll be back!

Mountain View paradise
If you want to be off the grid with a mountain view of Durango this place is so private you can sleep with your doors open in a gated neighborhood and feel safe and so relaxed. This single site is level and on the owners property. His name is Ben and he took great care of us. Will definitely book again when in the area!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Lisa Mason

Easy access with a level site. The view overlooking Durango was nice. Host was punctual, helpful and left us privacy.

Camp Summit
Beautiful setting, a short drive fr
Great stay. Beautiful views. Host was very friendly, flexible, and helpful; answered all questions via app within a few hours. Agreed to let us stay even though we had a big rig (39’ fifth wheel). It was very rainy and muddy and offered to let us stay extra time, which I thought was a very nice gesture.
A few things to keep in mind and plan for in case it isn’t obvious:
1 - not a true “full hook-up”. The water connection is non-potable
2 - sewer and electrical connections are at least 60’ apart and on the camp side. Depending upon how far back into the site you park you may need a seer line or electrical cord extension, or both. Sewer connection is also about 1’ off the ground so sloping your sewer line may be a challenge.
3 - host’s occupied family house is visible from the camp spot a 100-200’ hundred feet up the hill. There is an unfinished garage/shed directly behind the spot.
4 - not much flat graveled or grassed space on the camp side (we have an RV with slides on both sides ) to hang out on. There is a sloped space with a fire pit that has spots flat enough to put chairs. We loved it, although it did quite a extremely muddy when it rained.
All and all it was an excellent stay and would gladly return. Just be comfortable with and plan on the above.

Quiet, private spot in a convenient location with hookups included. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely visit again!
