You will be camping on what was previously called "Tent City." This 3 acre meadow was previously inhabited by those seeking riches during the 49'er Gold Rush. After a hard day of gold panning in the local creeks and rivers, they would treat themselves to an evening of debauchery in the saloons of Nevada City and the nearby Selby Hotel. It has been a working flower farm for the past 10 years. Learn more about this land: Location, location, location! Come park your self contained vehicle on a beautiful, working, organic flower farm, just minutes away from historic Nevada City. From our property, you'll have access to world class mountain biking, hiking, and the designated Wild and Scenic Yuba River. Gold Country vibe at it's finest! Activities to do nearby: - Nevada County is a hiking and biking paradise. Within minutes of Flamingo Flower Farm, there are countless hiking trails for you to explore. Cascade Canal Trail, Deer Creek Tribute Trail, Pioneer Trail, Hirschman Trail, and Hoyt Trail to name a few. - 4 minutes - Nevada City. Museums, art galleries, wineries, breweries, bars and restaurants are just a short drive away. In town you can explore the historic architecture, natural beauty, and all four seasons. - 12 minutes - In neighboring Grass Valley, Empire Mine State Park, with museum and hiking trails, exhibits the 49'er Gold Rush era. - 15 minutes - The South Yuba River is just a short drive away and is known for its incredible swimming holes. - 40 minutes -Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park has great hiking trails and beautiful views! - North Lake Tahoe is an hour away. This emerald gem is a must see. Please note that this site is for camper vans and small RVs only. The space has capacity to fit a vehicle up to 22 feet max. Currently, we do not allow tents or trailers.

The Flamingo Flower Farm

Upon arrival at The Flamingo Flower Farm we were greeted by the owners with …. a refreshingly cold lemonade! This truly was one of a kind “welcome” and ohhh so greatly appreciated on a hot summer day! Wendy and Corbett are the nicest people you will ever meet: hospitable, easygoing, kind, and will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Just to name a few perks: we had a 5 gallon water cooler full of iced drinking water at our camp site, we had a clean picnic table with an umbrella for shade and … and … and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers on the table! Our days were filled with nearby hikes from Cascade Canal trail in Nevada City to Summit Lake trail in Truckee and just few minutes away from the camp, we enjoyed exploring Empire Mine, largest gold mining complex in California. In the evenings we played a corn toss game that was conveniently located at our site (blue bean bags are the winners =)
