We loved having the opportunity to watch the running of a ranch. There are horses, cows, goats and chickens and a very friendly donkey. Delightful stay on a farm.

Peaceful Country Setting
We had a relaxing two night stay. Jamie and family were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Our Labrador puppy loved all the animals and I think made a new best friend with their miniature donkey. We loved that it was off the beaten path. Very quite and beautiful nighttime skies with no city lights to ruin the view. Close to Paso Robles and Morro Bay.

What's the saying? Close to home...
Only 15 miles from our home, this was our 2nd stay at Jamie's. The only problem here is that you need to appreciate quiet nights; a simple, plant-laden deck to dine on (or just enjoy a morning coffee): an occasional whinnying quarter-horse; and a decent list of oak woodland birds (yellow-billed magpies, Bullock's orioles, California scrub-jays, red-tailed hawks, etc.).
We were willing to put up with all this just to get away from the big city of Paso Robles, a notoriously horrible destination in the event anyone has mistakenly arranged an upcoming visit.

Full hookups with view.
Spectacular view overlooking a valley. We didn't park where we should, but we know where to park next time.
Jamie, Chris and two boys are a young ranching family. Nice people. There were horses, cattle and goats, all fenced, but not people shy. The animals look happy and active, living in a very well-kept environment. (took me a while to notice the absence of smell you associate with ranches.) The goats look like they're used to human contact - came toward us as we approached. I think you can feed them with snacks that the owners provide.
The land is native with gentle slope, so expect to spend some time leveling your RV, especially if you want to park where the view is. The host provide electrical cord, water and sewer hose, but you may have to add yours to reach level spots with good views.
Not much going on in the town of San Miguel; but the ranch is 30 mins from Paso Robles.
Weather was PERFECT in September - but I can see how it might be hot in the summer.

Jaime’s Ranch
We loved our getaway to Jaime’s ranch. It is just enough out of the city but yet close enough to San Luis Obispo, Atascadero and just about 45 minutes to Morro Bay. Our dog loved watching all the other animals. The sunsets are spectacular and even though it was a “hot” summer weekend there was a nice breeze and the spot we were in was under a giant oak tree. Don’t hesitate to visit this beautiful ranch, you’re gonna love it!
