Stafford Ponds is a working farm on 4 acres in redwood country. Lush open fields and tall trees. Views of the famous old growth tree “Luna. “ River spot 5 minute walk. Avenue of the giants and Humboldt redwood state parks just a short drive south, the historic town of Scotia and Rio dell to the north.A nook in the redwood trees at the wood mill. Plenty of sun, protection from the wind, ample places for camping or hammocks. Ideal for short stays, a safe place to rest before shoving off to your next adventure! Epic views of the mountainside and Luna ( the tree Julia Butterfly stayed in for two years to protest logging.) River within walking distance, historic logging/mill town of Scotia and Hoby’s market close by. For parking, headed east on north road, pass rv park, look for green square house with wood fence. Follow wood fence, look for gray metal gate with red handle. You may park on street or open gate and park inside. As you enter gate, parking is to the right in the grass. Look for the logs boarding the bushy redwoods just 30’ from the gate. Text with any questions.

The Wood Mill
I had easy communication with Jim. We texted, I followed his directions, parked, and fell right to sleep — so I can’t really say anything about the land. I got exactly what I needed — good rest in a natural environment — and would happily stay there again.

The Wood Mill
Very simple little area surrounded by nature and lots of lumber machinery which was different but a cool unique experience. Host responded quickly to our last minute booking. only criticism is of the instructions on where to park and camp which were a little vague.
