Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Splitrock Valley - Stargazer
It’s fun. The animals roaming around , the little zipline, the frog pond and the cute tents.

Amazing views in Fallbrook!!
Another great time! We were only to stay a night, but did speak to Benjamin regarding checking in sooner. He replied right away and we were able to workout an extra 2 hour early arrival. The camp ground was clean. It did seem a little overgrown, but nothing terrible we couldn't manage. Unfortunately the portapotty wasn't there and we did have to walk a few minutes to the nearest outhouse, that seemed to still be under construction. Other than that it was perfect!!

Hilltop Hideout with Cozy Cavern
I surprised my husband with a trip here for his birthday and we all loved it! Our 3 and 5 year old had a blast climbing the rocks and going on a hike with the resident goats. We love how secluded it felt, but with easy access to the essentials (just a short walk to the bathroom!). Definitely a great option for families who are looking for privacy but easy access and safe with plenty of amenities. Also super dog friendly which was a win for us!

Splitrock Valley - Stargazer
Camping with family
The site is in such a beautiful unique landscape. Our kids loved exploring and climbing all the rocks and the views walking around were amazing. It’s nice the tent is setup and makes things easy. We did see a rattlesnake and lots of lizards!

Splitrock Valley - Peppertree
Fun weekend!
Great location; lots of trails and boulders to climb on. Also activities for the kids including zip line, farm animals and games at the commons area. Suggest that camp host update maps as we had a hard time locating site when we got there and couldn’t reach anyone. At least 4 other groups also couldn’t find there sites as well. Also pepper tree isn’t not a great site due to limited flat area and lots of ants, rolli Pollies and pinched bugs. They got into our tent through the weekend and had to clean out to avoid getting into our bags. Other sites didn’t have this problem.
