Baby Oaks Oasis
Perfect for Group Gathering!
Wow, where to start. Baby Oaks is a perfect campsite for a semi large group gathering. The space is SO cool! The campfire, amphitheater + small platform set up is perfect for a group hangout spot. The large wooden platform up the hill was perfect our aerial rig and show space. The dome was incredible -perfect for a meditation class of 20, a yoga class for 12 and jiu jitsu matches with a dozen spectators. Parking was also great - campground held about 10 cars, then we were able to park another handful up the hill by the bathroom. The bathroom was also fine, although one of the two stalls didn't have a door. We hung a curtain, which worked well. Be sure to bring your own toilet paper and some wipes or hand sanitizer, there is no water by the bathroom (although there is a hose in the campground!). Another unexpected surprise was "the cafe" which we were able to use as a cooking area. We brought in all our own stoves but having an area for cooking was nice. The best unexpected surprise were the goats :) probably 20 goats, plus a sheep and alpaca, ascended upon the campground each morning, looking to check out our stuff and looking for some leaves to snack on. Be prepared to shoo them away from the trash, but other than that, they were harmless. Only downside was ants! Be prepared to become one with them haha. Also the camp hosts were delightful, came to check on us day one and gave us a nice warm welcome. We love Baby Oaks and can't wait to come back! Thank you!

Splitrock Valley - Vista
WORST experience ever!!
WORST experience ever!! Tent was full of mold, ants and spiders.
Rattle snakes were everywhere, toilet was clogged, Benjamin is the WORST! His unresponsive and irresponsible attitude , Everyone got sick of the mold in the tent, TERRIBLE!

Splitrock Valley - Stargazer
It was a great camp site! We stayed at Stargazing and it was magical. We were hiking earlier at the river trail close by and had a great dinner in the town.

Campground rave?
The site itself was awesome! I really enjoyed visiting the farm animals!!! Sheep, alpaca, pigs, goats, BABY GOATS, tiny chickens, cats!! Dogs!! They seriously had every animal it was awesome.
However, our experience was unfortunately changed when a massive group decided to rave at the campground. We could hear the announcer calling out performances and the rave music lasted until 3am!!!! 3 in the morning is INSANE! And I want to give the campground hosts/ owner the benefit of the doubt. Like maybe they make the bulk of their money on hosting group events. But the fact that I woke up at 9am and the rave music was still going is wild. There were other families and campers trying to enjoy nature.
But the property was very fun to explore and the hosts were kind.

Beautiful!
Hilton hideout was so beautiful with amazing views, water spout and fun fire pit area. The property is easy to find and we loved all the funny goats and sweet dog. Would come back!

Splitrock Valley-The Portal
We had a good time here! It was a beautiful place with beautiful views. We attended two yoga events and got to interact with some of the animals. It was pretty hot and dusty, so we escaped to the ocean one day, which was only about an hour drive. This was awesome to have access to, especially since we were coming from an even hotter place. Overall, we had just the weekend escape that we needed.
I notice that many hipcamp reviewers expect really tip-top conditions, but keep in mind that this is a campsite. I would say plan to bring everything you think you'll need for your trip as if you were at a site with no amenities, and then appreciate whatever extras you're able to take advantage of when you're here.
The trees were very nice, but you may want to bring your own shade tent.
There were quite a lot of ants at this site. That's part of camping, but if we had our own tent, we could more easily shake it out to get rid of them. I was glad we brought our own table and chairs since they were also easier to keep clean and get the ants off of.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this site. And we hope to return to be able to explore the area and Fallbrook more!
