Cabin and Yurt on Urban Farm
I stayed on Chantelise's yurt with my boyfriend on the Urban permaculture farm. Chantelise and her family were very welcoming; they took the time to show us around the yurt and the shared cabin, took us through their beautiful garden, let us play with their dog and cat, and shared fresh persimmons with us.
The yurt itself was very nice. The organic mattress was extremely comfortable and they had a really good heater that was perfect for the 30-40 degree weather at night. There was a bookcase with a mirror and a reading chair that looked perfect for cozing up with a book.
About 100 yards away was the cabin. The cabin had a small, fully stocked kitchen (no need to bring a burner or dishes) and a bathroom with a sawdust toilet and clawfoot bathtub and shower. In the main area of the cabin, there were a bunch of musical instruments and a loft.
The yurt is different from most hipcamps, it was located in a large backyard in a neighborhood setting, not in the wild but did have a very relaxing feel. If you want a more glamping experience, this place is perfect for you! There is also a redwood park to go hiking in pretty close by and we spent the day at the Chabot space and science center museum which was fun!
