Silver Springs Mountain Retreat is a retreat center and wildlife sanctuary in a forest of pine, oak and fir. We are off the grid, using solar power for electricity and for pumping and heating water for bathing. The facilities are rustic. Privies, dirt roads and outdoor showers contribute to simplicity of living. Accommodations consist of three separate secluded cabins, each equipped for independent living. Situated on 40 acres of mountain top at an elevation of 4400 feet, we are surrounded by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest with views of Hayfork Valley, Mount Shasta and the Trinity Alps.Beautiful mountain view from the large window of the main room. Downstairs contains fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove), a table, and a woodstove for heat. The bedroom is upstairs, where there is also a desk for reading or working. Standard electrical outlets can support low power items, including laptop- but blenders and electric kettles are not supported by the solar system. The toilet is an outdoor outhouse. Wifi access (either hotspot or starlink) can be arranged for an additional fee. Or, for the full natural immersion experience, leave your electronics with your hosts and unplug!
