Saddle Up Ranch is a horse rescue that is ever growing. We have over 180 trees on the property (mostly beautiful flowing California Pepper Trees) and have gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and horse pastures. We offer horseback riding, goat yoga, and goat milking. You can also volunteer and help care for the animals while you are here by feeding, grooming or simply petting them. TJ, our owner, is working her way through the race track. Our campsites are managed by Tony. He works closely with guests to expand our campsites. TJ and many of the guides volunteer hard hours to rehabilitate the horse and give them a good home. You should see how the animals flock to TJ. The ranch also has goats, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. You can support our mission of rescuing horses by booking one of our horseback riding or other services! Thank you for your support! Guests love staying here: "Second stay and looking forward to returning again! <3 We were the only campers during the weekend, it was so serene. It gets very cold at night but the star filled skies are breathtaking. This time during our stay we had 3 kitty visitors and 3 dogs that rolled up to our camp multiple times, it felt like they were checking up on us. It was so cute. The sweet Aussie poked his head in our tent to say "you good?" haha It was so cute and they were extremely friendly and social! The black kitten stayed at our camp all night and cuddled on our laps by the fire. It was such a lovely experience. TJ and her crew have done an amazing job with this place, I don't have enough words to explain. Just see for yourself! You'll love it!! Can't wait to visit again!"

We had a great time, got there right before sunset and the view was beautiful! They had a dog that came up and hung out with us for a bit by the fire, super sweet and friendly. There was only one other person camping so we had a lot of the space to our self. Although the camping space itself is pretty small, so if there had been someone camping at site 7 I don’t think we would have had enough room to be comfortable. Also in the morning there were a ton of of flies everywhere, we left soon after, but doesn’t seem like a camp site you’d want to hangout in during the day. Overall we had a really good experience though

Free range for animals, not campers
Regretfully, I have to agree with the reviewer who compared this camping experience to a homeless encampment. The farm was outstanding, the land was picturesque and had a lot of promise, but the camp sites were little larger than a parking space, had no separating features (like trees or bushes) and they were fully (over) booked. Thankfully, we had courteous neighbors who had booked multiple adjoining sites (for their party of two), otherwise our 4 person tents would have been close to touching. We reserved and paid for two nights, but only stayed one. Our neighbors also left a day early - despite paying for two sites/night. It would have been an entirely different experience if we had been spread out a bit more. Horseback riding was fine/fun, and as other reviewers have commented - TJ stole the show and made the trip worthwhile. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great. Spreading out the campsites would have made all the difference.

Nice and quiet
Enjoyed camping on Tony's land! You will need to bring some shade, the area is very dog friendly, I loved having my dogs with me and seeing all the animals. Yes there are some flies but it's because you're camping on a ranch. I would say this is really an outdoor experience. I really loved it! Felt like there was some of a mix up with the sites, but in the end everything worked out. Nice and quiet, the port-a-potties were clean! Sites included enough space, a table, and a place to light a fire. We really enjoyed our weekend!

Come for the horses, stay elsewhere
Honestly, the place was a little trashed and creepy. The place has so much potential, but we didn’t even stay. We felt really uncomfortable. We were lucky to find another campsite available elsewhere. The horses seemed to be well taken care of though. There was trash everywhere that really ruined the gorgeous views. There was a shipping container right below what would have been our site. Abandoned materials were all around us and the grounds. I get that this place didn’t function just as a campsite, it is also a working horse rescue. The people seem to do a great job with the horses, but the campsite was neglected and seemed like an afterthought. The pergola that was pictured was closed off and filled with trash. I was super disappointed and fooled by very strategically captured photos. Perhaps they were in the middle of some work or something, but it wasn’t the experience we were anticipating. I would recommend the horseback riding, but not staying here, ant least not until they clean it up.

Saddle Up Ranch is very much as advertised - a working horse rescue ranch with lots of horses, goats, and pigs. The camping is bare, with a port-a-potty and no showers, but they were upfront about that and we were prepared. Our dog absolutely loved herding the goats, and we took advantage of horseback riding. At one point, nearby neighbors were firing guns and it kind of freaked out our dog; we asked TJ if she knew any additional details, and she immediately called the neighbors to find out when they would finish (it turned out to be only 10 more minutes). We really appreciated how much care she put in over something that she obviously couldn't control. The entire experience was great, and we would definitely come back!
