Learn more about this land: The site is in a forested area with short pine and manzanita trees, so its nice and sunny, just out of the daily fog zone that blankets the coast, but only 3 miles from the coast. The neighborhood is super quiet and you can walk right from here to the Pygmy State Park trail system or just on the gravel neighborhood road. There is a main tent site and another tent site and places for 2 cars or more or a small travel trailer. There's a place for at least 2-3 tents and there is a table with 3 chairs provided. Also a metal box to keep your food away from bears that might come by (haven't had that happen yet). No campfires please but propane/gas cook stoves are fine. 50 gallons of potable water is provided from a tank. Please conserve water. Keep all food in your vehicle as there are bears and forest critters around. Outhouse with new, clean composting toilet, environmentally friendly! There has been an ornery squirrel that keeps ripping up the toilet paper so please bring your own. Use this lat/long as Google Maps doesn't like my address- 39.2581451131371, -123.723920996094. Brief directions- coming from the coast on Little River Airport Rd, turn right on "Posted Rd. 18/Sundew Lane" sign, stay right at the fork, first driveway on the right (funky oval painted sign as pictured). The site is in a forested area with short pine and manzanita trees, so its nice and sunny, just out of the daily fog zone that blankets the coast, but only 3 miles from the coast.  The neighborhood is super quiet and you can walk right from here to the Pygmy State Park trail system or just on the gravel neighborhood road. Private sunny forest near the coast
A Memorial Day to remember!
This was our first time using Hip Camp and we loved it! The campsite was easy to find, very beautiful, and specious. We loved the table and chairs as well as the water jug. My only critique would be that the outhouse seat seems to be a bit broken making the outhouse experience not ideal. Looking forward to when the owner can install a fire pit! Would definitely recommend this site to anyone staying on the Mendocino coast.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND, quiet spot!
I am so happy with this spot and if I come back to the area (which I'd loved to do), I'd definitely stay here again! There was such a comfort of being close to people (single mom with a 13 year old son with special needs) and feeling like I'm in the middle of nowhere all alone! We barely heard any traffic at all and everyone but the barking dog was respectful and quiet, I hope we were as well! We were gone most of the day, so I'm not sure what the daytime was life there. Everything was very clean and the toilet was as well- it was very easy to use with clear directions written on it!! A few things to know: There is a pretty high step up to the toilet, so although it is a handicapped accessible spot, I'm not sure I'd count it for that reason. Also would be hard for someone with mobility issues, specifically with the knees. Something VERY important to know before booking a spot that says handicapped accessible. Definitely bring bug spray; there were mosquitoes, but they weren't out of control. There is a pretty deep dip as you go onto the road to the campsite, so be sure your car can clear that (my CrV did fine). I didn't see a park here sign, so I just parked where it looked like a car would park. The sign that marks the driveway isn't super bright, but be sure to look at the photo before getting there, because I didn't. Could just be dusty from the dirt road.

Nice spot
Everything was great, only thing that bothered me a little was the constant barking of the dogs nearby.

Great spot, there is no house on the property so it is very private. The downside is that we felt a bit nervous leaving our tent unattended whenever we left the property because it is not gated and anyone could wander in from the road. Having said that, it is a very quiet gravel road and tent is hidden and risk is low and we had no problems. The neighbors dog was barking constantly at times in the evenings but stopped before bedtime so not really a problem. Overall highly recommend for location and price and privacy

Not really a forest, been logged over and is scrub and brush. Is quiet though even if pretty close to nearest home/building only real noise was dog barking in distance and not for long periods

Wonderful stay! Private feeling, nice area! Close drive to town. Make sure to bring a balm or something else that smells good to put under your nose when using the composting toilet. 😂
