This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! Near artsy, coastal towns. Wonderful location for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring beaches and forests.. In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay. Outside wood campfires are allowed seasonally, but unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Hot showers are available 15 minutes away with purchase of a day pass and quarters. The owners and their dog live on site about 50 yards away. You may see us doing our walks. Centrally located. 10 minutes from beaches, rivers, state parks, Stornetta Lands National Monument, and towns, i.e., Gualala, Point Arena, or Anchor Bay.

Pickle Barrel Campsite

Spent two nights camping here in my van whilst in the area for a wedding. Was a lovely spot, felt safe and private, and the surrounding trees were gorgeous. I arrived after dark the first night which I generally avoid doing but the instructions were very clear and I had no problem finding my way to the site and getting setup.

Beautiful private camping

We had a great time! The campsite had everything you need for a wonderful weekend, including a lovely clean toilet and a picnic table and comfy chairs for around the fire pit. The site is private and wonderful! We’ll be back.

Great rest spot !

Great spot to rest from your adventure along the busy coast. Private and clean. Has a path to walk with your behaved dog. And they can go off leash, which is hard to find. All in all, I had a wonderful stay 👍😊

Nice spot! In the woods which was cool. Lots of tables and chairs around with a well powered hose for dish washing/filling up on water. The washroom was clean too. Instructions to get there were clear

The Pickle Barrel Cabin

The pickle barrel cabin is the perfect little place nestled in the woods - close enough to civilization in case you don't like to be too far removed, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of everyday life (coming from the city, that is). Thoughtful details from the host make the experience seamless. My dog and I had a relaxing evening after our adventures up the coast in the cabin in peaceful solitude - exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, Gena!
