Ocean Forest Retreat is a nature lover’s sanctuary on the Mendocino Coast. Magical and pristine old-growth redwood groves overlook a beautiful ridge-top ocean view. The Retreat is surrounding by thousands of acres of serene redwood forest, and just minutes drive from the beach. There are 4 private and unique glamping cabins. The Honeybear and Garden Cabins have French doors with beautiful old growth forest views, cozy glass-door wood stoves, deck and patio. The Adobe Earth Cabin is surrounded by a covered Gathering Area with Earthen benches, a firebrick pizza oven and simple outdoor kitchen. The Redwood TreeCabin has French doors, an extra loft and a redwood deck. All cabins have comfortable queen beds, cozy heaters, private outdoor fire pits, plenty of forest or ocean view seating, solar string lights, hammocks and nature gathering spaces. Each cabin has a private outdoor hot shower and composting toilets. The earth cabin has an outdoor bathtub in a redwood grove as well. Ocean view seating and gathering area with picnic table and hammock (shared space.) Just a 5 minute drive to the coastal trails in Mackerricher State Park, Ten Mile Beach and River, The Dunes Nature Reserve, and much more. Ten min drive to Glass beach, the skunk train and Fort Bragg with plenty of restaurants and cafes. Ocean Forest is Off-the-Grid with simple lighting in the cabins and outdoor solar string lights. Outhouse Eco-composting toilets. Please note that the cabins are 10x12 and each comfortably sleep 2 people. Please inquire for additional guests with a tent fee. Please note that the Earth Cabin and Redwood TreeCabin are close to each other. There's privacy fencing in-between and plenty of private outdoor space as well. Adventurous nature activities available just minutes away! Including: beach horseback riding, guided ocean and river kayaking, famous Skunk train and Rail bike rides through the redwoods and more. Or enjoy hiking, mushroom picking, and soaking in the unique magic of rare old growth redwoods right on the property. Close to the amenities charming Fort Bragg and Mendocino have to offer including delicious restaurants ( seafood at the harbor) yoga studios, botanical gardens, art galleries and more. The Earth Cabin at Ocean Forest

This was an amazing stay! The covered fire pit allowed for great lounging in the typical north coast drizzle, and the tub was an amazing soak IN the drizzle. A true gem!

The Earth Cabin at Ocean Forest

We loved Ben & Grace’s place! So relaxing and quiet. The banana slugs are so cute! Also the out door shower and toilet and kitchen facilities are such a treat! The cabin is really cosy and has everything you need, comfy bed. Be prepared and bring pizza for the pizza oven!

The Redwood TreeCabin

My family stayed over for one night in the Redwood cabin. The whole site has a magical feel to it with a light fog, the beach off in the distance and th redwoods looming overhead. Ben and Grace were great hosts. The facilities were clean, and my only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer to enjoy and explore the area more!
