Our property is 142 acres located on the top of east Cuesta grade, elevation approximately 2100. We are secluded enough to feel like you're far away from city life but in reality only 20 minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. The main road up continues past our property and turns into the Los Padres National Forest and is very popular for hiking and biking with locals. We also have private trails within our property. We have a farm consisting of 10 sheep, 10 goats, 30 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs, a cat. Interaction with farm animals may be possible upon request. Most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Guests have enjoyed having a morning coffee in the company of sheep and a couple of pigs on the other side of the fence. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)

Fabulous place to camp! The views are insane, the animals cute and friendly, campsite has everything you need and only a short drive in San Luis Obispo or Santa Margarita. Karina and Chris were absolutely lovely - kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Stunning views but very overpriced
The Salinan campsite is incredibly secluded with breathtaking 360-degree views of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding forest, which we really appreciated. However, at over $70 per night, the lack of amenities was disappointing. Besides a picnic table and two rusty stools, there wasn’t much provided. All facilities like shower and toilet are quite far down a steep hill, making trips back and forth pretty exhausting. Also, the no-fire policy was a bit of a letdown. Overall, while the location itself is beautiful, the price feels hard to justify given the limited amenities.

This spot is absolutely a “ must see”! Complete Privacy with stunning views. It’s a little tricky to find which made our arrival even more gratifying😃The hosts are on top of everything. Clean composting bathroom and immaculate campsite. The critters were fun…. Dogs, pigs, goats, sheep ( and our dear friends) made the experience five 🌟. We will be back!

What an incredible place - I can't recommend Karina and Chris' land more highly. Thank you to our hosts, who were always ready to answer questions and generous in many ways. I've been to many hipcamp spots and this one is particularly magical. Can't wait to visit again. A few notes for other hipcampers: i) you can get up to the property fine in a normal sedan, but I imagine it'll be more difficult in wet conditions, ii) the range site is stunning and well protected in high winds, iii) the estate is large and campsites are really private - there's a real feeling of privacy and awayness, & iv) Karina and Chris' produce (eggs/honey) were fantastic.
