A little haven of warmth and relaxation.
Mosaic is a former horse ranch turned art and science community. We are on a mountain ridge in the middle of Tahoe National Forest, and have gorgeous views. We have a sauna, heated private outdoor showers, sinks, and bougie composting toilets. Also an inside flush toilet if you're into that kind of thing. The campground has a shared kitchen area with BBQ's, refrigerators, sinks, etc...The campsite is a flat and forested area. We have a shared food prep and BBQ area, with refrigerators, sinks, basic cookware, BBQs. The property is about 100 acres. Dogs are welcome, we have 3 of our own and it's a great property for doggos. We do require that they're supervised at all times, and we do recommend having them on leash, depending on their training. There is a highway a quarter mile from the camping area and a dog did get hit once (thankfully it just got a broken leg). We do have a large fenced in dog run if you want to not be supervising. We provide an indoor refrigerator and shelving for food. Please do not keep food in tents, critters like bears or raccoons may try to eat it. There are private residences on the property, so please do not show up without a confirmed reservation.

Camping at Mosaic Farms is a unique experience with a platform nestled above the trees, a small animal farm, a sauna, and outdoor showers with hot water. Once night fell, we charged our phones and relaxed in the lounge area. Todd and his friends were incredibly welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

I had a great time at Mosaic Farm. I came by myself to check it out before organizing a trip with my friends. The road and path to the campsite was good. Todd was super welcoming. The platforms had great views. Another review said they were too close to each other but this wasn’t a problem for me because no one else had reserved the day I went and I would prefer it this way when I bring my friends so we can be close together. The dogs are the sweetest! I’ll be back!

Gorgeous star gazing spot!
Tent
What an amazing place to stay! Beautiful sunset and star gazing, well maintained property, amenities, and a sturdy deck to put our tent on. Great location between Nevada city and some river spots. I can’t wait to return!

We had a fine stay, although the campsite was a little different than we expected. The hosts met us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property, which we appreciated. However, there were several buildings, residents, and other campers quite near the site; that was not readily apparent to us from the listing. Some of the amenities listed also deserve a bit more explanation. For example, there was a barbecue available but it was right next to the main house and a walk from the campsite itself. There was also a flush toilet, but it was located in an outbuilding with a strong odor from a goat hide tanning project (?) and strewn with various equipment. I also wouldn't count on being able to use a full kitchen, although it was helpful to be able to store some food in the available fridge. The price is right and it's easy to get to lots of gorgeous spots on the Yuba from there. The hosts let us do our thing and didn't enforce any kind of quiet hours, which our large group of friends also appreciated. Overall this site was fine for a weekend, but I'm not rushing to re-book.

5 stars for this incredible gem. Host was friendly, welcoming, very flexible and responsive to our questions. The property was gorgeous, quiet, safe, and even had baby goats, piglets and ducklings. There are wooden decks for your tents overlooking a wooded valley. A beautiful view. We would love to stay again next time we drive through. Perfect for a big group or just a couple.
