This 30 ft diameter Pacific yurt sits on 5 private acres with an occupied family home and sometimes used granny unit nearby Strategic design and landscape provide privacy for all. There is an airconditioned bedroom inside, a bath house with shower, connected by a deck in back and a small front covered patio. Access to the vegetable garden is included. We are willing to share summer vegetables. There is a shade cloth in the garden which provides a space for doing yoga or just having a picnic. Great night time views as well. A new addition is a portable swamp cooler in the main room--It requires tending but makes it live-able during the hot afternoons.Lovely, simple well stocked yurt, surrounded by tall pines, cedars and oaks. One bedroom with heat and air conditioning. Summer here is hot, especially between 1-4. We suggest going to the River during those hours. Large trees to West start shading the yurt about 3:30 and it starts cooling. Mixed and forest landscape welcomes humans as well as wildlife. Close to Yuba River with closest access at Oregon Creek, 5 minutes away. Nevada City, Historic Malakoff Diggins State Park and North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center nearby. Downieville and Gold Lakes Basin less than an hour drive. Rural setting, lots of wildlife, the occasional bear. Yurt shares space with occupied family home. Still, there is a sense of privacy and quiet. Night skies are full of stars. There is a screen with HDMI hookup for streaming with your own computer. Adequate internet and wireless connections.

Great Birthday Weekend!
With kids
We loved staying in Judith's yurt. The property was beautiful and the amenities were more than expected. Directions were clear and the property was easy to get to. Lots to do nearby. We took a short drive and were able to explore Malakoff Diggins state park and the Yuba river. Thank you for sharing your property, we would love to return!

Glamping weekend! 🏕️
Our stay on Judith’s land was lovely! We had a comfortable weekend that definitely ended too soon. The property is easy to get to and the yurt itself is well stocked with everything you could need for a stay in or outdoors. The river recommendation given to us by the host was the perfect way to pass the time during the warmer afternoon hours. We had a great time cooking meals and playing board games. This is a place we would happily return. It is only a 25 minute drive to Nevada City and close to the Yuba River. Our stay was amazing and one to remember!

Perfect weekend getaway!
With pets
We had such a great time on Judith’s land! The yurt is so cozy and fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. After a full day of exploring the area with our dog, it was so nice to get back to the yurt and turn on the air conditioning! Even when it was over 90 degrees outside, the yurt did not take long at all to cool the whole place down once we turned on the air conditioning. Judith was so kind and shared a bunch of information about the area with us. She gave us some great recommendations on places to go and we are so grateful for that! We will definitely come back to this spot.

A perfect place for self-care.
With pets
The Yurt : is very beautiful, spacious and furnished with everything. There is a separate living room, bedroom, kitchen is equipped with everything (coffee pot, microwave, fridge, pots and pans, glass wine, knives, fruit-peelers...etc.). I enjoyed cooking home made food and got to use some of the kale from Judith's garden. We came in Spring. The weather was nice. Yurt is warm and cozy. We enjoyed the fireplace in the living room. The bed was really comfortable. There was a heater in the bedroom. I slept so well. Judith : is a wonderful host. She is very kind and accommodating. She is available if I need anything but also give us space. Her dog is so cute. Land : I love that we are far away from the road. It is serene at night, far away from noises, the sky was beautiful and I could see the stars. I will definitely come back again. It is better than staying at a hotel. My dog loved the land. I love the convenience and appreciate everything that Judith has provided for her guests. I know she has put a lot of love, care and thoughtfulness into making the Yurt a lovely and comfortable place for her guests. Thank you Judith. We definitely will be back again. I love the Bird's Nest Yurt.

Perfect cozy, rainy weekend
Lovely stay! We stayed on a rainy weekend in February but it was a delightful little reading retreat. The sound of rain on the yurt is so cozy, the wood stove kept us warm the whole time. Judith is a great host. Definitely would come back!
