Kosk Creek Campgrounds
We enjoyed our stay! However we felt the listing was a bit misleading, only a small portion of the land is designated for camping and there’s only really one camping spot that’s up close to the water. There’s absolutely no camping near the swimming holes (except maybe one) and no camping near the hot springs, which is frustrating as this wasn’t made clear until we pulled up to camp and there were signs specifying we couldn’t camp past a certain point. Overall it’s a beautiful area and we had a nice weekend, but was really disappointed when we showed up and it only became clear onsite that we wouldn’t be camping near the hot springs after we had paid the $50 a night. In the future we will probably find a campground or dispersed camp spot and just walk to the hot springs on-site that are still public access.

Tons of space to choose from in a great setting! Worth the price if you plan to soak multiple times in the hot springs but plan on minimal amenities.

This is a beautiful location. We've visited here for years and it's really lovely to have the camping option. The owners were easy to communicate with and very hospitable. We appreciate their generosity!

Little slice of heaven
We loved camping at Kosk Creek Campground. There is plenty of room to spread out and have your own space. The river was clear and cold and kids loved playing in it. We camped right by the water. We all really enjoyed the hot springs, just a short walk downstream. There are several different temperature pools so we all found one that worked for us. Bring your bucket to the pools to adjust your he temperature. We would definitely stay again! The teenagers weren’t so happy about not having cell service and WiFi but that may be why we enjoyed the trip so much! 😊

Great place to spend a few days, wish we could have stayed longer but the real world prevented that…find a place that’s comfortable for you and your needs, we setup just a few hundred feet from the gate with great access to the creek and a short 5-7 min walk to the hot springs. There is one port-a-potty near the middle of the campground, we were in a trailer so had no need but if you need easy access find something closer (you will be closer to the hot springs too). Look forward to coming back someday

Not private but great hot springs!
We traveled from the East Bay using Waze, which led us north of the location and down a 45+ mile unpaved, rocky road, adding 2 hours to our trip. **Do not use Waze** for directions.
If you have a lifted 4x4 and don’t mind the extra travel time, it might be fine, but it’s not the easiest route.
The campsite we chose was clean, near a running stream, and close to the gate entrance. A clean portable restroom is just a minute’s walk from the camp. There are also more secluded sites tucked into the trees on the left for those seeking privacy.
One thing to note: the public accesses the hot springs through the gate. Despite signs saying "Reserved Guests Only," many people walked by our camp throughout the day, which made us a bit uneasy. We expected only fellow campers to use the hot springs, but that wasn’t the case.
On the drive home, we took the normal road and then the highway toward Redding. The abandoned, graffiti-covered cars along the way might be off-putting, but the hot springs are worth the trip—especially if you have them to yourselves.
Pros:
- Would stay again.
- Would camp in the trees to avoid public crowds.
- Recommend visiting the hot springs earlier in the day before they get busy.
Great host, and sorry for the confusion when we got lost—our GPS failed us, doh!
