~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **PLEASE NOTE** Construction of our new bathrooms will be taking place during the months of October and November 2024. Construction will take place between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and it will be noisy. We apologize for the disruption, but look forward to being able to offer this amenity to our campers in the future! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center is a nonprofit with a five minute walk to Jug Handle State Reserve, Jug Handle beach and the Ecological Staircase trail. We offer 11 unique campsites with plenty of space and privacy. Each site has two picnic tables, a fire ring, parking for two cars and plenty of space for your tents. Our 33 acres include a native plant nursery, community gardens, forests, meadows, and nature trails. Our site has lots of nature trails, is peaceful and beautiful and just a 5-minute walk to Jug Handle Beach and the Jug Handle Preserve. Our Mission: We offer a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds to explore nature and connect with the natural word. Nature stewardship is central to our non-profit mission and as an organization we are engaged in many nature restoration projects throughout Mendocino County. We also provide a supportive learning environment for nature education for disadvantaged youth during the school year. If you teach k-12 and would like to bring your classroom to Jug Handle contact us about special rates and our immersive nature education programs.
#4 - Big Meadow, Power & Water
We had a fabulous weekend at Jughandle! This was our 3rd trip there. As always, everything was so peaceful and serene. Easy hike to the beach and several options of trails to explore. Drove into town for dinner at Noyo Harbor for fish and chips. We had 3 other groups join us and everyone loved their sites and had a great time as well. Looking forward to our next trip!
#6 - Sunny and Open
Great location, sites were ok, trails around and tk the beach were awesome, bathroom was great….$60 in off season however is a stretch. If I’d known all the campgrounds in Jackson Demoltion were closed I wouldn’t be writing this review lol Also, cool history of the farm and what they’re trying to accomplish on regrowing the area great job!
#11 Large Sunny Group Campsite
Amazing Spot!
What a great spot to camp! Easy to find. Well maintained. So much space to cook, makes fires, set up tents, play and then the access to the trails and heading out on adventures is right there! You do not have to drive anywhere. We had a wonderful time and hope to return very soon.
#7 - Large Sunny Family Spot
Great location, midway between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Surrounded by beautiful woods, and a short hike to the coastline (Jughandle Reserve). Site #7 was spacious and separated from other sites; it can easily accommodate a family and friends. Bathrooms are being updated this month at Jughandle but all their Porta Potties were exceptionally clean and well maintained.
#5 - Play in the Shade
Love Jughandle. It’s so well maintained and the sites are private and spaced enough to really make you feel like you’re alone in the woods. Beautiful property!
#3 - Grandma's Wild Woods
Overpriced for what it is. The property is overdeveloped. They’re currently under construction. There’s no trash available. The upside is spacious sites and easy beach access.
