Joshua Tree Gypsy Camp
Best equipped magic desert retreat
Hands down the most equipped, carefully laid out, meticulously clean, and creatively decorated camp we've ever seen. Don't hesitate, just book a couple days at Rhonda's magical desert retreat. The camper for shade, changing, kitchen prep, and bathroom with compost toilet are clutch (although legally you can't sleep there). No worries, just wander up through the pathways to the camping firepit area where there's plenty of flat space to set up tents and gather around the Franklin stove (all set up and ready to light). Back down at the trailer she also provided everything imaginable needed, including a two burner camping stove, and all the pots, pans, utensils, and spices you might need. This place and Rhonda really are gems in the dusty wilderness. We loved exploring all the little trails she has carved through the desert around her property and lovely touches everywhere of rock formations, crystals, and chimes. Be sure to drive a vehicle that can handle some sandy washboards on the way to the site, but it's very easy to find and in a fabulous location near Noah Purifoy's outdoor museum, Pioneertown, the park of course, as well as downtown J-tree.

Joshua Tree Gypsy Camp
My favorite quiet place.
Rhonda's camping spot is one of my favorite quiet places. It is filled with space, silence, stars, sunrises and sunsets and dessert animals. It is always renewing to be there!

Joshua Tree Gypsy Camp
The Beauty and quiet of the Desert
We loved camping on Rhonda’s land! It was so quiet and beautiful! The sound of the birds was about the only sound you heard, what a rest for your ears and mind and soul. They were Quail running around, beautiful Sun Rises, and vistas, a fire ready to light up where you set up your tent, wonderful gourmet coffee from Joshua Tree coffee company and coffee pot in the trailer, plus dishes, pots and pans. Trailer has compost toilet sink and shower but no sleeping. A propane camp stove set up out front to cook on, picnic table in front of trailer and another table up near your near your tent. Rhonda is delightful, you immediately feel welcome and cared for, we will be back! .

Tranquil Escape in J Tree
My friend and I camped at Rhonda's magical site, and it was nothing short of amazing. Rhonda is so friendly and knowledgeable. She really thought of everything with her charming trailer and decorated campsite. The Ben Franklin stove is such a treat! We had a toasty warm campfire all evening. Honestly this was one of my best camping experiences to date. Thank you so much, Rhonda!

Joshua Tree Gypsy Camp
Artistic Stargazing & Woodstove
Perfect spot to represent what Hipcamp is all about. Rhonda takes a lot of care in making the space so hospitable. Even had the fire in the woodstove already made just to light! Never seen that level of preparation. Lovely space on the edge of some hills, perfect stargazing spot. Follow her directions for access! Border road is paved, others are not. Wouldn't recommending riding a motorcycle there, unless a dual sport, lots of sandy roads around. All in all, lovely stay and would return on next trip to Joshua Tree.

Joshua Tree Gypsy Camp
Great camp! The entire property is artfully designed and appointed. Franklin fireplace and grill easy to use. A full camp kitchen! There’s even a marked path to a padded bench on a neighboring hill. Sweeping views and beautiful evenings. All near J Tree! What more can I say? Couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Thanks Rhonda.
