Tent camping
The view was beautiful the site was secluded and very quiet. The road was a bit difficult to get up when it was wet with a 2WD car definitely doable but a little harder then expected even when the roads weren't wet it was still a bit more difficult then expected but otherwise it was a great stay would definitely reccomend.

Nice site with an amazing view of the Pacific. Easy drive to Gualala. And the directions were clear. Download the instructions before you get there, there’s no cell signal near the campsite.

Site 1 had a beautiful view. Having a sink on site was super helpful and the porta-johns were really clean. Great location!

Lovely dog-friendly coastal retreat
We loved our weekend camping here! It felt remote, but was also conveniently right off Highway 1. There are a couple steep driveway turns to go up, but the signage was very helpful since we arrived in the dark. It was a piece of cake for our 4WD Jeep, but most cars should make it too.
The views of the ocean were stunning, especially as we watched sunsets and sunrises. The Pacific Ocean is truly vast. :)
Super nice to have running water (from a hose with nozzle) and sink at the rustic outdoor kitchen. I’m never a fan of portapotties but they were in fine condition.
I recommend Cooks Beach a few mins away, especially if you have a dog. (I was so glad Susan’s campsite was dog friendly!)
It’s an easy 10-15 min drive south to Gualala if you need anything in town. They have gear shops, cafes, a supermarket, etc.
Note that the other two campsites aren’t insanely close, but there’s nothing blocking the view in between them so you don’t have total privacy if there are other campers.
Overall this was a great trip and I’d recommend Susan’s spot! #2 and 3 also have some view of the ocean, it’s just a little more obscured through the trees.

Wonderful location, peaceful spot. Site 3 is not perfectly level for a van but workable. Appreciate the super clean portapotty and water table for dishes. We enjoyed our stay.
