6.5 acres hosted by Blake L.
In 2015 I purchased two separate parcels of land amounting to 4 and a half acres of land in north Joshua Tree with the intention of land preservation. A couple years later my brother and I purchased two more parcels in the same area, collectively we have preserved six and a half acres of untouched desert. Through Hipcamp we aim to provide a minimalistic off-grid experience while sharing all the magic that is the Mojave desert.
Learn more about this land:
One of the most remote and accessible hipcamps in Joshua Tree. Descanso is situated on six and a half acres of picturesque desert encompassed by thousands of acres of government protected land with sprawling views of the national park, San Jacinto and San Bernardino mountains. The property is home to kit fox, desert tortoise and burrowing ground owl habitat. Located less than 15 minutes from downtown and the National Park, Descanso is also close to Noah Purifoy's Outdoor Art Museum and Landers, home to Giant Rock and the Integratron. There are three large sites for tents, a regularly sanitized porta potty, a 55 gallon drum with potable water, a wooden picnic table, a fire pit and chairs, as well as a charcoal barbecue. The site is very well lit, there is parking enough for three small vehicles or two camper vans/trucks no bigger than 18 feet in length. The campsite is self check-in, however don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Six guests max, check in after 1:00PM, checkout before 12 noon.
