There’s lots to explore with close by river day use access on the way to Jackson at Vaught's Beach on Electra Rd. or in Clements on N Mcintire Rd. Both provide bathrooms, parking, picnic options and access to Mokelumne River for lounging, kayak, rafting and water play.

Our town Mountain Ranch has Saturday afternoon craft fairs, occasionally car shows, farmers market, etc. Small historic sites are nearby in Cave City, Mokelumne Museum and old town San Andres with a Saloon and performing arts theater. Cabin is small, but offers ALL needed accessories; choice of Weber or gas grill, Mr coffee pot with filters and sugar, several family activities both outdoor and indoor to unplug from technology like books, puzzles, magazines or just zone out in the peaceful environment and watch the wildlife come to eat and drink. There is a TV with about 1000 DVD movies to select from and there is a cell tower nearby for cell service, so that you'll still have contact to the outside world. There is also a projector for outdoor movie watching. And if you have an electric car there is a 220 plug in, but don't forget your home charger.
The property is in the heart of the Butte Fire that passed through back in 2015. You’ll see first hand just how close the fire came to so many homes and marvel at the regrowth over the past years. The property itself is an adventure. Our property goes back another 2.5 acres behind the top sitting area that’s being cleared from the fires you can explore. We also built a treehouse platform sitting area to enjoy coffee or just zone out that faces the creek, our kids put up their tent.
We have one campsite on the property that has its own fire ring and private location for tent camping, or camper van set up, but just a bridge over the creek walk to main sitting area, outdoor shower/porta potty and parking for extra vehicles around the cabin.
Inside the cabin: *Inside the cabin there is one queen size bed and one full size blow up mattress for two adults on the bed and two children on the blow up along with bedding. *Any additional guests may put up a tent outside. Dog bed, electric heater, wood burning stove, a/c during the summer months, wrap-around table that can sit 4-6 guests, stove, microwave and small refrigerator..
Outside there are different areas to relax and hang out. Toss games, swings, hammocks out during the summer, treehouse platform for morning coffee, two outhouses and an outdoor shower right next to the cabin and lots of wildlife that walks through. Across the ravine you'll see signs and red ties that are the property lines and there are trails along those markers to explore through the fallen trees.
All you need are groceries and we have a store on the way you can do that on the way called Senders in Mountain Ranch. It will be on the right hand side after you pass the gas station and looks like an Ace Hardware. Where you’ll find local wines, big ribeye steaks cheaper than the Bay Area, Deli with great sandwiches and anything you can think of they have it plus the extra nik nak if you wanted a souvenir. There is also a local bar to play a game of pool, grab a bite to eat and watch a sports game. There are also a couple food options; Wildlife Cafe and Heart of Gold Cafe in the general area of the gas station with road advertising signs. All have good reviews if you google them.
We really love this place and come up every other weekend to clean, split wood, clean fallen trees and enjoy the nature. We try to keep it up, so others can also enjoy getting away too. Over the years guests have added their touches with stacking wood, creating a labyrinth, painting rocks and leaving us gifts that we treasure and do our best to preserve. We just ask that you treat it like your home too 😊 Our hope is that you ... Enjoy, relax and have a nice time in nature away from your technology and regroup for the week ahead.
Cleaning fee provides propane for grill, supplies inside cabin and cost of splitting wood.
