Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year.  We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more. For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot. We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.Cold Creek Estates, the home to the Cold Creek Orchard, is located just 7 miles north from the 210, on Highway 18, on the way to Lake Arrowhead. Easy access on a 4-lane mountain highway and its placement in the canyons of the San Bernardino National forest, 3,200 feet above the sea level, makes CC a magical place.  It's a mix of desert roads and rich green, not expected in Southern California. Staying at CC may be a quick convenient stop in a beautiful oasis, or a destination escape from the rush of the city and suburbia.

Okay spot
Host was nice on the phone. We checked in very late no problem. Never saw the host. One morning the gate was seemingly locked without notice from host. Tried to go talk to host and all phone numbers were going to voicemail and honking near the houses (as written on paper notices on the home) yeilded nothing. We went back to the gate and the lock was actually open but it looked locked. The site is flat hard packed dirt. There are animals nearby (groundhogs, squirrels, etc) we saw a bush get eaten from inside the ground in front of our eyes. You can hear the cars on the nearby road so bring earplugs since cars never stop even at night. It's private if the second campsite is unoccupied otherwise the campsites are pretty close to each other.

Quiet, private and simple
Quiet private property nestled on the mountain side just off the main road. Definitely use GPS to get to the property or your message, and if you do, you’ll have to travel 6 miles up the road to turn around and come back down. We drove a 30 foot motorhome down the dirt road on their property. The Terrain looks difficult but it’s manageable if you take your time. ‘Daniel showed us around the orchard. We had a great time

If you need a quaint place to camp for the night on your way to Crestline or Arrowhead, this spot has a beautiful canyon view. Daniel, our host, was very friendly, responsive, and accommodating and willing to show us around the property. We slept in our rooftop tent and camped out of our car. There are no amenities so just be sure to bring everything you need. :)

Nice little spot
This place was cool, the people were very nice and helpful. You're nestled in one of 3 campsites which are off the road to the orchard between some steep manzanita filld hills. Very pretty, the campsites seem to be a new addition to their operation and I imagine they will only get better with time. I'd stay again.
