Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
Enjoy the wonders of Carrizo National Park. Home to the largest Soda Lake with 360 degree views and the super bloom that attracts thousands of people every Spring. Reconnect with nature and escape the noise and pollution of the city. The majestic hills frame a perfect view of the sky so you can experience sunsets, sunrises, full moons, eclipses and starry nights like never before. You may see local wildlife such as mountain lions and elk in the surrounding hills, rabbits and tarantulas in the fields or even hear foxes and coyotes howling in the distance. Driving Instructions: Head toward the middle of 7 Mile Road until you see a Green outhouse building on the south side. Coordinates: 35°17'04.6"N 119°54'13.7"W  Don't forget to walk on the soda lake! It's a short drive just south of the property. There is cell service on the property for most carriers.  Please be extra cautious with your campfires. I did like that there was phone service so I was able to use GPS and Spotify for entertainment. I recommend bringing your own restroom if you don't already. I'm familiar with Soda Lake already so my stay was for enjoying the day hiking around the lake. Other campsites are fairly close to each other. Hopefully you don't mind the company. There are coyotes at night so beware.

Carrizo Cabin
Nice elevated shed with no insulation so it can get chilly at nite and bugs get in easier than a tent but it’s nice to sit in the porch and watch the stars. Nice spot for the minimalist

Carrizo Sunrise
Basic and reasonably priced
Cooper's site is in a great location if you come for wildflower viewing—the wildflowers were actually at the site! The coordinates were accurate, and the place was easy to find. I would recommend placing a wooden block with the site's name as stated on the map—this would help find the correct site as there seemed to be more sites than on the map. I was there on my own, so there were no issues. It's very basic and does not offer thrills, which is what I was looking for. Finding sites reasonably priced for solo travelers is hard, but this one made the mark.

Carrizo Sunrise
This was not my cup of tea (an older female traveling alone) but it could be fun for a group looking for wide open space to camp. I came in at night and even with the gps coordinates I missed the entrance. The outhouse was a large trash can under a plank with a hole to sit on - and it was quite full. Fortunately I travel self-contained. That said, the wildflowers in Carrizo Plain are magnificent and worth the visit

An amazingly beautiful place! We live in the county and plan on coming back often. Perfect for primitive camping. Excellent time of year for the flowers. Well worth coming out for this!
