Quincy is a thriving mountain community of 5,000 residents, the county seat of Plumas County, home of Feather River College and High Sierra Music Festival, restaurants, and a microbrewery. This charming 20ft yurt sits on its own in a private forest on a hill above Butterfly Valley. The hard winter this year crushed our yurt. We now have a beautiful new yurt with newly installed wood flooring. Offering quiet privacy, it is a truly rustic experience best suited to those who already have a comfort level with campground-type facilities. It is warm in summer and wood-heated in winter. The yurt is equipped with an outhouse, bathhouse with a hot shower, stove, fridge, queen size bed and a futon. We had a wonderful time at the Butterfly Valley Yurt! Lori and Keith were very nice and helpful. We loved the peacefulness of the location and the comfort of the yurt. Looking at the stars through the yurt was really something special. Can’t wait to return!

Camping upgrade
Camping upgraded! My 3rd visit and its always a wonderful time! Come to unplug and listen to the trees, light up the wood during stove on those cold nights, make a cozy meal, and explore nature!

serenity amongst the trees
Another great trip at Butterfly Valley Yurt! It’s always serene and peaceful at Lorie’s Property. We love the fact you can play in the River all day, then take a nice hot shower before dinner; while enjoying being secluded amongst all the trees. Thanks again Lorie, We’ll see you again soon.

Excellent stay!!
With kids
Wonderful, private, clean yurt! Staying here reminded me why I love Hipcamp so much. You can’t get this type of experience in a hotel or house. I stayed with my two little kiddos and they’ll remember it for the rest of their lives! They were so excited to stay somewhere unique. The yurt was very well stocked with everything we needed and the shower house was amazing!! The privacy was excellent, could not see another house, only the pines.

Family recharge

our first time sleeping in a yurt and it won’t be our last. Lori and Keith make it feel like home away from home. Surroundings were absolutely beautiful and the swimming hole was amazing. there was a candle and some bug spray to keep the mosquitoes away, but would definitely recommend to bring more. The only thing we were confused about was in the description. It says trash bins are available, but it also says pack in pack out. we were unsure what we should do. We will definitely be going there again.
