Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Conveniently located between Auburn and Grass Valley, our cozy, country cottage sits on a private hilltop with garden, wildlife and sunset views. During every season there is beauty to behold- abundant wildflowers in Spring, colorful Summer sunsets, golden oak leaves in Autumn and the occasional dusting of a Winter snow. You may be greeted by a flock of turkeys who have randomly adopted two peacocks, the rare albino peacock is always a favorite, the deer are friendly and love to eat from our garden, rabbits, quail, the occasional fox, neighborhood donkeys, red tail hawks, birds, bees, butterflies and more. Our cottage is equipped with everything to make you comfortable during your stay. The upstairs loft bedroom is bright and spacious, healthy houseplants line the walls and a skylight gives you a starry view and a sunrise awakening. Downstairs is the living room with a futon that can sleep 2 more, a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom with shower. Step outside and sit at the table for two to enjoy the sunset view or kick back in a hammock and relax during the heat of the day. Blissful Acres cottage has a greenhouse, small kitchen garden and for the permaculture fans, a garden of hugelkultur beds!, on the premises. Blissful Acres is owned and maintained by a small 3 generation family so the gardens will be at various states of growth and maintenance depending on the family’s abilities at the time and season! If you want to help us in the garden please let us know! For the river lovers, Bear river is a short 7 min drive away and there is no shortage of hiking, biking, swimming spots within a 30 min drive in every direction. Come stay with us and enjoy the nature and tranquility at Blissful Acres!Conveniently located between Auburn and Grass Valley, our cozy, country cottage sits on a private hilltop with garden, wildlife and sunset views.
