Gambier Island is located a short ferry ride from Vancouver . The island is mostly unspoiled WestCoast Rain Forest. It has mountain trails and lakes to explore but the terrain is rugged. Wildlife consists mainly of deer and many bird species with no dangerous predators. Orca whales & seals are often seen feeding & playing close to shore. Hiking, photography, foraging, swimming, beach combing, paddle boarding & mountain biking are popular activities. There are no services available so campers must bring all supplies needed for their stay on island.Take a 10 minute water taxi ride from the ferry terminal and arrive at the government pier at Gambier Island , near the Sunshine Coast .
A 20 minute hike up the gravel road brings you to our property inland.
Gambier is a natural wilderness , with no stores or public amenities. Bring everything you would need to explore the back country and be prepared to pack it out again ! Our property is best suited for folks wanting a quiet experience in nature.
Pitch your tent in a grassy clearing and enjoy the dark night with amazing stars. Water is abundant from our spring and there is a rustic toilet near by. Campfires are permitted outside of fire season and wood is available. Enjoy exploring the forest trails nearby or relax at the beach.
To protect wildlife, dogs must be leashed at all times.
