Site 2 - Free Bird
What a gem
As much as I don’t want to share how amazing this site is, I’d be disappointed if more people don’t get to experience it. Absolute gem of a location. You can wade across the river, knee deep. Very well maintained site. Second time here and surely not my last.

Cowboy’s Way
We loved our weekend here! We tent camped but there was a converted horse trailer that was pretty cool and very very minimal. We just wanted to take advantage of the great weather by sleeping outside this trip. It was beautiful, close to the water, secluded, and our dog had a lovely time running around and taking some dips in the river while we kayaked. We’d stay again for sure.

Sisters Trip :)
This was my first time using Hipcamp, and Site Two - Free Bird made it a fantastic first trip! It was also the first time my sister and I had gone on a trip, just the two of us, and we were a bit nervous—but this place took all those worries away. The campsite is right on the creek, and we had so much fun using the provided kayak and tube to explore. The setup was wonderful, and we loved making s’mores by the campfire while watching the sunset. Setting up in the structure was easy, and dusting out the spider webs and spiders was no big deal—just part of the outdoor experience! Waking up to a beautiful sunrise was a highlight, and hearing the wildlife and farm animals throughout the stay added so much to the atmosphere. The coyotes howling at night was thrilling, and the rooster’s crow in the morning was a perfect way to wake up and enjoy the sunrise. Watching my dog run around, living his best life, made the trip even better. While you could hear neighbors at times, I never saw them, and it felt like we had our own little slice of oasis. Wentz was an excellent host, answering all our questions and creating such an amazing setup. I can't wait to come back with my husband and son for another relaxing getaway!

A little
We loved our stay here! We were on motorcycles so couldn’t drive all the way to the site, but it was a short walk from Where we parked to the site. The place is over a mile down a very hard packed gravel road- very much rideable on cruisers. Biffy was immaculate. The cabin is a screen porch type setting, not fully enclosed. we set up our single tents inside so we wouldn’t wake up with any surprises in our sleeping bags. Lovely deck with chairs to sit and listen to the river and wildlife. Super clear water. Site has a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. Lots of wood around the site, also firewood for sale for $10. Bring camping basics - headlamps, tp, a good book, etc. We loved our time here!
