Unfortunately we do not have running water or showers at this time we are in the process of providing this service again before September 2025 We are in the process of building four cabins and one main house on the property. We have 4 RV/tent sites available at this time, and two cabins in the works very much usable for bad weather conditions. We are totally off the grid! Wilderness experience
Tent
Beautiful high desert open range off the beaten path, this campground has standing junipers, sage brush, and primitive dirt roads. If it rains, you need a 4x4 to get there. How do I know? I got stuck in the wash at the bottom of the hill on the county road and had to hike in about 1.5 miles. The two cabins were surrounded by earth ship building material stockpiles, busted old ATVs, old tires, and miscellaneous scrap. Between the boondocker camps across the street and the scrap yard, it kind of had a Mad Max feel to the place, so I hiked to the West End of the ranch and camped in the junipers.

16 ft campervan · With kids
I actually never got a chance to stay up there because it was 15 degrees and it would not work for my kids and I in a tent so I got a hotel. But the owner or manager was so responsive and sweet! He actually told me the weather.

Frustration
The directions were absolutely horrible!! Not even close to where the site was supposedly locayed. After going back & forth on a narrow dirt road for an hour -- the address we wete given was for three houses at the next road & theu had never heard of SDR Ranch or the host. When we alled, we were given a completely different set of directions. Asked what the right number for the campsite and was told "I'm not sure." And then got sent a picture of a different address. NEVER even got there & decided if a property owner has no sign, was not on the property AND didn't know the right address -- well then, what's left to say?

The property was amazing! The drive out wasn't long, though it involved a bit of off-roading. It was definitely private and provided that perfect rural camping feel. The view of the stars was gorgeous and definitely a welcome relief from the city life. I would definitely stay here again if given an opportunity!

Definitely off the grid
Definitely off the grid, which was awesome. Literally no one in site. The owner also suggested we could take the county roads to Petrified Forest. Which was super awesome. Property had tons of wood to use. Camp where you want. Our GPS took us right there, but it was a little tricky deciphering some of the paths.
