Former ranch land in the historic old mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. Ongoing projects - restoring the orchard, growing new varieties of flowers, cacti and other drought tolerant plants that are "appropriate" for the high desert with Etowa Farms, harvesting and milling mesquite, irrigation, water harvesting, recycled bottle and can walls, composting and turning the corral into a music venue. We are committed to the wildlife and ecosystem at Camp Etowa and will be hosting a swap meet and sessions in sustainability, art, survival and wilderness medicine soon. We have two very friendly service dogs, an owl and a hawk that hang out with us, javalena, jack rabbits, mule deer, quail, doves and coyote that will sing to you on clear nights (sometimes even if it's cloudy). We love kids and dogs, but this is tuly wilderness; so be prepared to for the occasional encounter.

I had the pleasure of staying on Dina’s beautiful and peaceful land, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dina was incredibly helpful from the start, answering my call right away and staying on the phone with me until I found the site. I also appreciated that she accepted a last-minute booking, which made my trip much easier. Not only was she friendly, but she also took the time to educate me on the area, which was super helpful!

Great spot, great host! We met Dina (and her cute dog) immediately upon arrival and chatted briefly. She gave us some advice about a question we had about spot we were thinking of driving to and we appreciated the input. Site was exactly what we expected and we felt safe and comfortable all night long. Everything you want in a primitive site experience.

Rustic, but perfect.

Dina only rents this spot to one person so it was secluded and quiet. We rode our motorcycles and were able to pull right up to the spot. The ground is soft and perfect for tent camping. The night sky lit up with stars and you could hear the coyotes.. The next morning we could see the moon and blue skies over a mountain in the south over the boarder. It really was a great place to camp.

Quiet and beautiful. Dina is attentive and kind as well. Windy as predicted with a lot of these desert spots, but you roll with the punches. Saw a gorgeous green comet while I was getting ready for bed! So there’s extremely clear skies too. It’s a short drive into Bisbee too. The perfect road trip sleep for a van drive.

Dina was so kind. She made sure that I felt comfortable being in the wild desert. She even brought me a gallon of water to make sure tgat I had enough. Saw a beautiful sunset, starry skies, and the twinkling lights of Bisbee in the distance.

For anyone doing the AZ BDR (Backcountry Discovery Route) this is a good launch location. Roughly 20 miles east of the beginning of section 1. Site is a simple pullout on the road to the host’s home. Very cool nighttime view of the lights at the border. Was just what we needed before starting the BDR.
