Aspen Hideout
Location! Location! Location!
Location! The major appeal of this hipcamp spot is the close proximity to downtown Flag. I travel through the area fairly regularly and most often just dry camp at an OHV area NE of the city. Staying here offered two major advantages. First, the 15/30/50 amp electric. My van batteries are a little finicky when the temps go below freezing and having shore power is a reassurance I won't wake up with no heat in the middle of the night. Second, walking "home" after a few beers at my favorite brew pubs in town is much safer and more convenient than driving back out to the OHV (which is also the wrong way when I'm traveling south.
Davan is terrific with communication and also came out with his dog to greet me when I pulled up. Nice touch!
Note: the water does freeze when it's really cold, so be sure to have on-board water supply if needed. (He does explain this up front.)
The only minor downside is the overall price. I thought it was a little high, but I won't knock the rating in the slightest because I obviously agreed to it when I booked. And it IS Flagstaff, where everything is in high demand and is priced accordingly.

Great spot close to downtown
You want to be close to everything that Flagstaff has to offer? This is the place to stay! Davan was very welcoming and made sure we were ok. Minutes from his place we went to visit the historic district, had wood fire oven pizza, went walking and cycling. And what was really cool, is that he had water, electricity and a place to dump our grey water right on the spot. Thanks Davan!
