Kashwitna Kush Wilderness Hangout
Location is great on the way from Anchorage to Denali. Facilities are minimal but Jake is very friendly and helpful, let us use his bathroom in the morning and even provided hot coffee.

Kashwitna Kush Wilderness Hangout
2nd year back to Alaska, Jake's place is located conveniently between Anchorage and Denali, so we stopped for a night to take a shower, do laundry, and hangout. Jake's hospitality and warmth is unparalleled!! So happy to see him again and hangout with his puppies, we made a HUGE fire woohoo!!

Kashwitna Kush Wilderness Hangout
What a wonderful stay! Jake is a great host who will go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. He gives privacy, but is only a phone call away should you need anything. We took him up on the offer for hot showers and could not have been more thankful. He also provides water and electricity on request. Beautiful property that will no doubt be built up over the next several years. I can’t wait to come back and see what’s next for you Jake! Onward and upward.

Great hang!
Jake is a super friendly host, we had a nice hang, it was the perfect homey vibe for a solo traveler. He helped me restock some of my supplies, and the two puppies were lovely. Wonderful people, wonderful property, easy to find yet secluded with privacy.

Kashwitna Kush Wilderness Hangout
Wonderful spot to rest between Anchorage and Talkeetna! We watched the sunset from our camp and listened late as the wild bed down for the night. Jake was a very gracious and communicative host. He went above and beyond to make sure we had great directions and all our needs met.

Kashwitna Kush Wilderness Hangout
Sleeping deeply in the AK wildernes
We were looking for somewhere to spend the night on our way back to Anchorage from Denali NP and Jake’s was the perfect place. You can setup close to his house and he’ll give you access to amenities such as the bathroom/ shower, and even run an extension cord out so you can charge up your devices, etc. Or you can do what we did, and setup at the other end of the property for a bit of privacy and outhouse access.
Either way it’s well worth the $20 price tag, and the next time we’re traveling the Parks highway we may very well be staying with Jake again.
