The RV pad at Birch Hill was recently created in anticipation of full-time RV living but life circumstances have opened it to travelers. The land borders the Matanuska Greenbelt where you can walk, run, or bike through the heart of the MatSu Valley. Enjoy the Eagles and Moose in peaceful solitude. Learn more about this land: Avoid the crowds of the RV Park! Pull into your full hookup site surrounded by forest and overlooking a private lake, with nothing but nature surrounding you. Just two miles from downtown Palmer and the Fairgrounds. Hiking and biking trails right out the door.

Large gravel RV pad on private lake
Amazing, true serenity!
This place was absolutely beautiful! It is so nice to have all the amenities you need/want while also having complete privacy and peace! Typically to get everything you have to stay at a campground with many others (nothing against campgrounds we just truly enjoyed the serenity of the private pad). The host was incredibly kind, he brought us fresh eggs from his chickens and allowed us to use his paddle boards on the gorgeous lake! Everything about our stay was lovely! We built a nice campfire and saw a bald eagle land right in front of us as we sat by the fire, it was majestic! We highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!!

Large gravel RV pad on private lake
Rather more than a gravel pad!
Extraordinarily well equipped, very large, private site with full hook up and powerful Wi-Fi - and access to a lake plus watercraft on it. The site isn’t “cheap” but for what you get is “value”: The town of Palmer is delightful and an easy drive from the less charming Anchorage (which is well worth visiting just not staying in) and while Palmer is well stocked there is also a Walmart nearby if - like us - you need a major one-stop resupply. The only downside connected to our trip - where we were unlucky - was an extraordinary number of mosquitos prevented us from enjoying the outside space around the trailer. I’d check with the lovely hosts (Russel and Sarah) what the chances of a mosquito hatch are - when you are staying - at your time of booking. All the amenities, location and privacy this site has - plus the ability to make full use of its enormous outdoor area - would have made it the perfect HipCamp site for us.

Large gravel RV pad on private lake
What an incredible spot - one the most beautiful places we have visited! From the RV gravel pad it was a short walk down to the private lake where we saw eagles whilst enjoying the thoughtfully provided water toys and life jackets. A really peaceful and fun afternoon. Russell was a great host with clear info. Thank you!
