Dark Hollow Park provides beautiful, private, and secure primative campsites. Potable water and a composting privey are available. The camp host is on site if there are any questions. There is a one-mile hiking trail, a small stream and waterfalls located a short hike down into Dark Hollow. The Hollow is rich in history. There is a small Amphitheater in the bottom of the hollow where permanent water remains year round. Dark Hollow has played many rolls from sancuary to battleground over the years. There are numerous activities with in a short distance.Dark Hollow is a beautiful property with plenty of tenting options. We have eight named sites that each accomdate several tents. Only four are occupied at any given time. Small trailers and rv's have several options depending on size. You may reserve a specific site if you message me in advance. Children under 12 stay for free here. Campers often hear lions, tigers, or wolves from the sanctuary located in Sand Valley below. The terrain is rugged with a steep hike down to the creek. There are many hiking trails throughout the 14 acres. The more primative campsites require a hike to the farside of the property. Dark Hollow has a rich history of use due to the year around water sources and the terrain providing a defensible position. The Amphitheater located in the bottom of the hollow is unique and gives a glimpse into the past. The camp host "Zed" or "Strider" will meet you to help find your campsite and give a brief orientation upon arrival. A firewood bundle is a wheelbarrow full. The quietest day of the week is Sunday. Happy camping.

Amazing view in compact primitive
Nice hike down to creek. Firewood, water spigot, nice picnic table & rock pit, gravel parking, porta John, and the host Danny was very friendly and accommodating.

Dark Hollow
Our favorite camping spot
Another great stay at Dark Hollow! Camp was full for a perfect fall weekend, but we had plenty of space, privacy, and quiet. The views are incredible, and listening to the nearby big cat sanctuary never gets old. I highly recommend. Thank you, DH friends!

Dark Hollow
Beautiful and clean campground
We enjoyed Dark Hollow- it had a beautiful view, the host was friendly and helpful, and the restroom was clean. It was easy to get to and perfect for a quick overnight camp with kids. Would camp here again. The hike down to the “amphitheater” was short and steep, but our 5 year old did it with ease. Beautiful ravine with boulders and a small creek. You really can hear the wildlife refuge which was fun for our kids, but our dog didn’t love the hyenas(??) in the middle of the night.

Dark Hollow
It was a nice campsite. Very clean and cleared out at site. The trails were very narrow but marked on trees. The view from our campsite was great! It was the perfect place for a 1 night stay.
