High Falls State Park Campground
Description
Named for the tumbling cascades on the Towaliga River, High Falls State Park is known as one of Georgia’s top fishing spots for hybrid and white bass. Campers can choose between spacious campgrounds and lakeside yurts, and during the summer can cool off in the park’s swimming pool. In the early 1800s the area was a prosperous industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, a shoe factory, and hotel. Today you can hike up and explore the remains by traveling along the river’s edge and past the hilly forest.
