The Gainesville Hawthorne trail runs along the backside of the property. This trail is part of the Florida state park Paynes Prarie. A bike/walking/horse trail that was previously a railroad running from Downtown Gainesville to Hawthorne. Purchased by the state and paved on one side for bicycles and grass on the other half for horse riding. It allows you to ride right into Gainesville Downtown /Depo park area. We are 11.5 miles down the trail from Downtown Gainesville. The back of the property also has Lochloosa creek passing through it, so you'll be able to see the old train bridge that the state park trail uses to get over the creek. We have a few loaner bikes guests may use. Downtown Gainesville is a 15min drive. Hawthorne about 6 minutes. Bike ride aprox a hour to Gainesville. If your towing horses, they may graze within the camping area. If multiple guests then we will ask you to move your horse to the bigger pasture. Pets are welcome, please be responsible for them. Outside of the fenced camp area we have pet cows and donkeys... There all trained as pets, never going to be eaten,
they love snacks, your welcome to feed an pet them. Remember donkeys may not react well to a aggressive dog so keep your dogs leashed. There's a pond on the property with white ducks.
