Private Island Floating Tents!
While the island may be private there are two floating tents and two tent platforms on the island so don't expect to have the island to yourself. We rented the kayaks and they were in good working order and ready for us ahead of schedule. Once we set up our campsite, we paddled out to the open ocean which was a nice way to spend the afternoon. During our paddle we saw a nurse shark, crabs, and lots of fish. The camp sites do face the bridge, so road noise is still audible. Once on the island there are not many places to sit outside of the floating tents or the tent platforms. We took advantage of the fire ring and there was plenty of mangrove to scavenge and burn. The only bugs we encountered in February were some very small biting bugs that came out at sunset but disappeared after about one hour. The fire helped keep the bugs away. We stayed one night so we did not need to use the portable toilet. There is a great coffee shop about 100 yards from the launch site.

Private Island Floating Tents!
Very enjoyable
February 13-15, 2024 was great time to go. Wind kept away mosquitoes. I had no bites. Wind highest at 16 mph and average 9 mph. Paddle boards were having no issues getting across to island even at 16mph. Platform for camping on was clean and very handy. Hammock camping was not ideal. But tent was perfect. Temp 70 average day and night. Ideal conditions. Enjoy! Lynn & Justin.

Private Island Floating Tents!
An adventurous way to experience Key West. Dennis was very communicative and helpful setting us up with kayaks, gear, and thorough instructions before we paddled our way to the island. It was about a 25 min paddle. And the tent site was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend for those who are up for an adventure.
