Viewing Wapiti' sunrise
Hard to find, very primitive but stunning sunset and sunrise and view of the mountain on the other side of the valley. Excellent location between Cody and Yellowstone and the road to get there is nice.

Our host was not present when we arrived which created an awkward situation. The view was incredible but the site was too close to the house with no privacy. Would not stay here again.

I’ve never tried HipCamp but loved our first time. As soon as we pulled up they were outside waving and greeting us. Everyone was so friendly. I had a great experience! There was open space and land and it felt like we were “roughing it”. All in all great first experience!

View View View, Indeed
View View View is easily the most picturesque spot we’ve ever camped. Being on a large hill in a mountainous valley means you’re surrounded by an incredible shifting spectrum of color as day becomes night.
There are a few notable details that may be helpful for others. The first is that the drive up to the house is at times rocky and quite steep. We handled it fine in our AWD vehicle but our friends who drove a vehicle with much shorter clearance struggled with it on the way up. The second detail is much less significant but still should be noted for those looking for total privacy. The designated camping area is fairly close to the house. This wasn’t an issue at all for us since the view of the house is so small relative to the landscape around it and it quickly disappeared from our mind during our stay, but for anyone wanting seclusion this may be a point of concern. Additionally, it can also be quite windy at the top of the hill so best to be prepared with a tent that performs well in windy circumstances.
Abi, was one of the kindest and most thoughtful hosts we’ve ever encountered. We can easily recommend her and her place to anyone wanting to be close to Yellowstone and surrounded by continuous beauty. Oh and the drive to Yellowstone through the Shoshone National Forest was incredible as well.

Whoa, the views at Abi's were breathtaking! Abi was a kind and welcoming host. She took the time to show us around her land and tell us fun stories. Although she couldn't serve us tea, due to COVID, she brought out a tea tray to show that that is how she would have liked to welcome us.
Excellent site to watch the sunset and sunrise. Make sure you bring a tent you can confidently secure to the ground, gets a little windy up there. :) Abi had lots of tricks in case it got too windy, but we were fortunate enough to have a calm evening.
