Snowy point and wood duck island
Beautiful peninsula to camp on. Host let us use the canoes and we had a lot of fun fishing and swimming. Nice private campsite that had views of the lake on almost all sides.

Great Private Camping Spot
We tent camped on the property and had an amazing time. James was very flexible accommodating. We saw abundant wildlife including deer, geese, ducks and loons!
We stayed on the small peninsula and had almost 360° of water view.
I would recommend, this was much more private than other campsites in the area.

Camping on the peninsula
James and his 2 friendly pups were awesome host! He met us at the address meeting point and had us hop in his truck to give us a tour of his property. He’ll show you options to camp depending on your camping experience. My partner and I are medium level campers so we decided on peninsula across the lake (highly recommend). The path driving is mowed but I would suggest 4WD. My 02’ Toyota RAV4 managed fine. The area is beautiful and right off the water. Saw several eagles, cranes, and deer! Loved walking around in the morning and collecting wildflowers. Swimming and canoeing at north sand lake about 5 min away as the water near your camp site is more suitable for canoeing or kayaking rather than swimming. Overall 10/10 experience, I love that James and his family are keeping such a beautiful property untouched and left to wildlife and not letting it be sold to developers, we feel lucky to experience such a great spot. I would highly recommend and would come back again!

Snowy Point with the dogs
I tent camped at this location with 2 dogs and it was great. It is a secluded point/ peninsula that juts out into a slow moving slough.
The site is shaded on the north and south side with the host giving you some freedom to set up where you like. You could find ashaded spot easily. The very tip of the peninsula gets full sunshine between 11 and 5ish. It is accessible from a mowed trail that most cars should have no problem with
The site and the entire slough is quiet and wild. There are only 2-3 homes/cabins in the area, with a lot of wildlife moving about. There is a working beaver dam on the north and I got daily visits from a doe who like to nibble at the water plants every evening.
The host (James) was very accommodating and helpful. He has some other site possibilities for camping on his land there also, so I'd recommend messaging with any questions. He was always quick to reply.
