Healing Haven Campground @ Lone Wolf Ranch is located in the Okanogan Highlands just 4 miles south of the Canadian border off of Hwy 97 and just outside the historical town of Oroville, Washington.
The orchards and green pastures of the valley floor are in contrast to the rigged cliffs and dramatic glacial features that surround our 20 acres located on an isolated and peaceful high mountain plateau.
Just 1.5 miles away is the wonderful Lake Wannacut Public Access Area where you can swim, enjoy the day on your boat, or just lazily fish from the shore.
There are biking and horseback trails such as the Similkameen Trail, the Whistler Canyon Trail, and a vast amount of ATV trails.
Museums, local wineries, and an 18 hole golf course provide great day trips and there are a myriad of scenic drives awaiting your exploration.
On the property itself you can bike, hike, get a lesson in gold panning at our very own gold mine, or even go on a dogsled ride. Enquire as to availability of tours and experiences at time of booking.
The area is rich with quartz and many other minerals and crystals reported to be both a spiritual and a health benefit and the seclusion and quiet will leave you feeling rejuvenated after your stay with us.
We look forward to welcoming you to Healing Haven Campground, hope you will excuse any renovations and/or construction of our newly established home, kennel, and campground here in the wild and wonderful Okanogan region, and we also hope that you will have time to book a tour of the kennel, home to an authentic Alaskan Iditarod Sled Dog Team known as the Polar Pirate Pups.
Several dispersed campsites are available immediately, with a small cabin to be used as a common area, a Tiny Lodge, and what we call The Tiniest Home coming in the following weeks.
See you soon!Stay in our 12x28 Hickory Cabin with a nice seating area comprising of two sofas, a desk, and several bookcases filled with eclectic reading material, a windowed breakfast nook, and two twin beds in a very low-clearance loft accessed via an extension ladder.
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to stay in one of these popular Hickory Sheds converted to a living space then this is your chance to see what that lifestyle is all about. A small wrap around porch provides views of the Okanogan River Valley and it's centerpiece, White Stone Mountain.
Just across the way is our team of Alaskan Huskies that will greet the day with a group howl and bark excitedly as a pack as they welcome another guest onto the property.
If dogs are not your thing, then please refer to our sites that mention having an equally dramatic White 'Rock' Mountain View as opposed to the White 'Stone' views of the mountain in the valley. These sites are on the upper portion of the property and are at the base of the mountain up behind us.
Seasonal sled dog tours and dogsled rides are available upon request as well as Gold Panning lessons. Please give three days advance notice for any on-site activities you would like to book.
Parking available for two vehicles, with more available upon request, though a short walk may be necessary from the secondary parking location.
Restrooms are provided in the way of an outhouse or porta potti, and we are completely off the grid here so be sure to put new batteries in your headlamps, flashlights, and lanterns. Several gallons of drinking water will also be provided.
Please, no pets allowed as we are a working-dog business and have almost two dozen sled dogs on site and all children have to be supervised at all times due to this and the fact that we have gold mine shafts on the property as well. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and we look forward to sharing our amazing existence here on the mountain with you.
