Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. A few offerings on the farm. Tasting in the 1850s Chestnut log cabin, tubing trips, breakfast and picnic lunches, Animal experiences and Yoga. Please inquire about renting the property for private small events.

Birdsong Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Great host/great campsite
This campsite is great for so many reasons. First, the host is awesome. They took the time to walk my daughter around introducing her to the farm animals, and play 20 questions about every animals name. (my daughter is very inquisitive when it comes to animals). Second, the location cannot be beat. It is an easy drive, the campsite is easily accessible, and it is close to great attractions. Lastly, the campsites themselves were well maintained. Also, the property has several options for campsites, but they are so dispersed, it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. We are already planning our return trip. When we got there my daughter told Jennifer this was her 2nd favorite campsite...by the time we left, she was convinced it was now her number one favorite campsite.

Butterfly Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Hikes, Sunsets, and a great host
I received great detailed instructions in advance, and everything was all set up when we arrived. The tent space was flat gravel, there was plenty of room to park, and everything was stocked (wood for fire, soap/sponge/towel for washing dishes, and plenty of jugs of non potable water). The campsite had a great view of the sunset, we enjoyed walking the small network of trails on the property and meeting some of the animals (including an adorably pregnant goat), and we loved the proximity to hikes nearby - especially our favorite (Old Rag). Jennifer was lovely and very responsive, even providing us a canister to boil water one of the mornings we had an early chilly hike planned.

Butterfly Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
Camp Paradise
Hands down the best HipCamp we have visited so far. Clear directions and easy to find and right to site. Host answered all our questions pre arrival and we couldn't have asked for a better Basecamp for three days of hiking. Butterfly camp was completely Secluded spot with an amazing mountain view. Stack of firewood awaited is on arrival next to a nice firerinh and self serve station was a plus. Site was very clean. We are very self sufficient but it has everything you need and then some. Washing station was a huge plus with plenty of water and even a sponge and hand towel provided. Outhouse was more than sufficient with biobags included. Very convenient location to access Old Rag and White Oak Canyon just 20 minutes away and 30 minutes from both entrances to Shenandoah. Walked the property on arrival and ran into host at farm store and they were all very inviting. Barred owls every night, woke up to deer and even caught a small bear passing through at night crossing the trail to farm store. 100% would recommend this site to anyone. This is most definitely going to be added to our must return list. Thank you for sharing your amazing property with us. We will be back.

Wisteria Camp near SNP
We had a great time camping at Wisteria, would definitely come back. We brought our dog who loved the off leash time and was funny seeing her meet the farm animals. The campsite setup is perfect for cooking and hanging by the fire. The farm was easy to find and an easy drive to Shenandoah Park and some nearby little towns.

Wisteria Camp near SNP
It is a beautiful spot…..for us towing a 20 foot trailer it was precarious…..4WD is a must if you’re towing…and the exit was challenging as well….as I say beautiful but challenging. There were deep ruts on either side of the road and a 12 degree incline to get to the site. If you’re tenting or a camper van it is great and the hosts are wonderful….great location to Shenandoah:).

Moonshine near Old Rag SHEN NP
We had a wonderful stay at the Moonshine site. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, even opening the farm store before we left so we could pick up some eggs and sausage (highly recommend)! They also shared great recommendations for local hikes, dining, and a cool winery that we hope to visit next time.
Location
Etlan, Madison, Virginia, United StatesTraditional, ancestral territory of Monacan, Shawandasse Tula (Shawanwaki/Shawnee), and Manahoac First Nations according to To respect the Host's privacy, the precise address of this land will be provided after booking
