Within the town of Mount Holly the cabin sits on 3 acres of land. It is on the backside of Okemo Mountain, with the Green Mountain National Forest near by. The nearest access to the Appalachian Trail is within 20 minutes of drive.
The cabin is sitting on a piece of land that has no connection to any communication system; there is no cell service nor internet/television service.
We provide a walkie-talkie that reaches the owners home, to be used in case of any emergency.
The cabin is powered by a solar panel that provides electricity for the water pump and the cabin’s interior lights. The kitchenette has a two-burner gas cooktop.
The main heating source is a wood stove, and the fire wood is on site for the guests to be used.
The nearest country store is nearby, in historical Village of Belmont with picturesque Star Lake.
(As of June 2023 the Belmont General Store is closed due to renovations being conducted under the new ownership)
The Historical Village of Belmont has its own museum, library and a post office.
Please note;
The entrance to the land is private and gated and there is no entry without the owner’s presence.Down a dirt road across from the Green Mountains National Forest, you’ll find the Red Shed. This one bedroom cabin is tucked away from neighbors and offers respite from technology (there is no cellphone nor internet service) and an opportunity to be surrounded by nature.
Listen to wildlife while sitting around the fire-pit, feel the air on your skin during an outdoor shower, fire up the wood burning stove on cool nights and chill snacks and refreshments in the mini-fridge. The Red Shed features solar powered lighting, plumbing and a kitchenette with stove top and microwave.
The space easily sleeps four people and can accommodate additional guests in the spacious loft and sitting area. There is also plenty of space for a tent on the property. The local convenience store is a short 5 minute drive away and the surrounding area features lakes, waterfalls, Appalachian Trail access, and of course, mountains all around.
