Undeveloped desert property 7 miles from Hwy 118 and about 30 miles to Terlingua/Study Butte. 9 miles to Little Burro Country Store. Beautiful 360 degree views of hills and mountains. These pictures absolutely don't do it justice. Come for the stars and stay for the quiet. We've seen donkey tracks and have so much fun being the only people in sight. Extremely secluded and perfect for stargazing! We are located in Terlingua Ranch, so roads are maintained but high clearance vehicles would be preferable. Full disclosure, there are several low water crossings that must be crossed to get to the property. Don't let that discourage you, it is a desert after all! Just know that if it rains there is a potential for the road to wash out. Summer is the rainy season and if for some reason the road is out and you cannot get to the property I will absolutely refund you. We have had to park and walk in before but we know you might not want to do that! It's easiest to use the center GPS coordinate to navigate there, and we do own the tall hill on the west side of the road although the majority of the property is on the east side, you can park or put your tent anywhere you like, though I would stay closer to the road to avoid the draw at the back of the property.Undeveloped desert property 7 miles from Hwy 118 and about 30 miles to Terlingua/Study Butte. 9 miles to Little Burro Country Store. Desert camping experience
Loved the place! Definitely a different experience in camping. There is a total Desert. Rocks and mountains behind you. We were the only people out there. And it was quiet and you could hear the coyotes, owls, and birds. no road or cars or anything else. It was not a long drive to Big Bend Park, or Terlingia. When we saw how close all the other people who camped or RV or were at hotels together we were very happy to take a little extra drive to go home and have it all to ourselves. Once again, it is desert camping so you have to get in traditional forest camping. You learn to appreciate the rocks and all the geology that goes along with it. And you can learn a lot about the mining in the area that happened. will go back again. It is a little challenging in the dark once you get there, it’s fantastic. Highly recommend for a place to stay especially in this area.

Ringo, Sally & Ramon, HipCampers
When i left the highway and turned onto Agua Frio road I managed to miss the turn and made it all the way to the entrance to the mine. So i backtracked and found the correct rode and made the turn onto a single lane dirt road. This road is not bad in nice weather but if it is raining there could be problems if you do not have a 4wd. Once i found the site i was pleased with the quiet and serene location. I found a nice flat area to park my Hiker Trailer and setup camp. Ringo and Sally my 2 rescue dogs had a blast exploring the area and only became concern once nightfall came and the coyotes began to yip and howl!! I love and long for seclusion and isolation and this place did not disappoint. There are no houses within a mile vicinity and that is what i enjoy most about this area. In the mornings i made my coffee gave my dog some treats, grabbed my camera and walked around Nicoles property. It was truly quiet on those foggy mornings as we casually walked around. Plenty of beautiful yucca cactus and lots of colorful rocks in the hilly parts of the property. I plan on visiting Nicoles place again in the spring when the Big Bend Bluebonnets are in bloom.
