Best in Texas: Finalist
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
Where the short-grass prairie drops into the Red River Valley, the 4R Ranch—with its magnificent vistas and rocky terrain—is perfectly suited for growing grapes. Patriarch W.C. Roper encouraged his family of sixth-generation Texans to share the beauty of this extraordinary place with others; and so it was love of this man and love of the land that inspired 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery. Chinquapin oaks, white-tailed deer, the endangered black-capped vireo, and the occasional Rio Grande turkey inhabit this incredible property. Powered by sun, earth and wind, 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery calls us all to slow our pace, enjoy the view, and sip a glass of wine in the magnificent Red River Valley.

4R VIP Top-O'-the-Ridge Campsite
BEST CAMPING NEAR DALLAS must see!!
This was hands down THE BEST camping experience near Dallas. Me and my husband went for 2 nights to escape the hustle and bustle of the work grind. We stayed at the VIP top o’ the ridge camp site, and cannot express how blown away we were by absolutely everything at 4R! The bathrooms were clean, warm, and well kept. They provide complimentary firewood, and on Friday we ended the night at their gorgeous tasting room! We ate a lovely charcuterie board on the patio and were taken care of by the server Bree. The views were outstanding, overlooking the sunset and the vista. We got one bottle of their white & one of their delicious red blend! The grounds were extremely well kept and well labeled. It was easy to navigate and find everything pretty easily. On our last morning before we left, Walt stopped by to check on us. We had a lovely conversation and felt so taken care of during our stay! We will ABSOLUTELY be back , and can’t wait to bring friends and stay longer! Thank you for a lovely get away Walt. We are already counting down the days till we can come back. 10000000/10 recommend! Thank you to all the 4r ranch staff as well. The kitchen and other staff were so friendly and told us all about the history of 4r so I didn’t want to forget them! Much love y’all! See you soon 😊

RV SITE #1
Beautiful views, beautiful walks along the trails, and spacious sites for those who are tent camping. The tasting room and restaurant are set at the top of the property, which provide even more incredible views of the sunset. My dog loved watching the deer and very fast armadillos, none of which bothered us at our site. I will definitely return again for another stay.

Wish I Could Stay Longer!
My husband and I visited for a night to break up a long drive and I wish we had time to stay longer! We stayed in early December and had the whole area to ourselves. The land was beautiful and instructions to get to the campsite were super easy to follow. We arrived at 1am and had absolutely no trouble finding the site. Would love to stay again sometime and 100% recommend!
