Wayland Springs, prior to 1800's was Cherokee land, gold was found, and Indian relics, even today are regularity unearthed for those who pursue the hunt. The 1800's brought general stores, banks, hotels, hospital, blacksmith, tanner, iron ore mining and a rail line put in. Rail line is now gone but so much history remains.
Preceding the Civil War Wayland Springs was known as a resort for health and pleasure. Word of mouth had people traveling great distances to come drink from our natural springs with the reputation of possessing valuable medicinal qualities. Today, still, the locals enjoy the springs and many of us regularly drink this delicious tasting water.
Wayland Springs Cemetery is on property site & guests are welcome to visit, just ask & please remain respectful...very old stones, some from 1800's.
Fast forward to present and I find myself creating a play place for families, friends and loves ones to come, enjoy our beautiful space and make everlasting memories.
When you visit & camp with us we want your experience to be all you hoped for and find yourselves wanting to return year after year. Thank you & blessings to all.
