.The cabin at Sweetgrass Homestead is beautiful, eco friendly and artistically designed space perfect for a romantic getaway or healing retreat.  We use only non-toxic and organic cleaning materials and natural fibers. Cotton, linen, flax etc for bedding and blankets. The land is a beautiful mix of old growth Oak, Madrone and Pine, with open meadows, fruit trees and an abundant and lush vegetable and medicinal herb garden.   The cabin is a stand alone structure with a separate parking and pathway entrance. Its relatively close to the main house but private feeling with fruit trees and rose & lilac bushes as space holder for its own lil yard- we are visioning adding more privacy and living fence coming soon. The outdoor shower and soaking tub is designed with a fusion of PNW & Japanese simplicity in mind. Its divine to take a soak when its raining and listen to the drops fall on the roof over head. The wrap around deck and front porch are supported with trees harvested and peeled on the property. There is a shared beautiful composting toilet near the temple, just a 10 sec walk away. This system used here breaks down waste that turns into fertile and rich compost in a couple years that is used for tree planting and other projects on the farm. This is a dry waste system, meaning we encourage minimal liquid in put, there are many private places in the forest and around the cabin to pee on the earth.  The land is home to me (Stella), Yara the wolfpup, Kava the maine coon cat, a gaggle of chickens, and most likely a work trader or two living here and learning about farming/homesteading. Sometimes its really quiet and you may not see any of us and sometimes we are bustling around working on projects or enjoying meals together in the backyard.  This is a healthy, holistic and very kid friendly environment.  There is a yurt temple space dedicated to meditation, healing arts and yoga. You are welcome to use the space during your stay. More details on the space will be provided with an info booklet upon check in. Please read thoroughly. If you would like to book a session with one of the many healing arts practitioners during your stay just let me know. There are an abundance of massage therapists, reiki, craniosacral, herbalist, and yoga/meditation instructors in the valley.  *About Stella- Apart from being passionate about homesteading and growing as much of my own food and medicine as possible I am an herbalist and photographer. I have a lust for adventure and have travelled all over the world. I love hosting and am happy to welcome likeminded travelers and adventurers.

Sweetgrass Cabin
Perfect for exhibitionists!
Beautiful property with curated, cleaned out underbrush. Owner wants you to pee “wherever” on the property but there is actually very few places to pee in private since the yard is so well maintained. Would be much nicer to have a private pee area. The main house is RIGHT next to the cabin (which has no curtains for changing or having private time with your partner). The option of curtains would have been appreciated. The cabin is super cute but no kitchen towels or paper towels and very little cookware. If you’re planning on preparing your own meals, bring your own supplies, spices, pans, spatulas, etc. Bed was comfy, space was warm, the tub area was super cute! Host interaction on the app was friendly and responsive.

What a sweet little cabin! Very comfortable bed and sitting area. Functional kitchen. The outdoor bathtub was the highlight! Bathroom wasn’t too far away and clean. Lovely host.

Amazing Experience!!
We loved spending a night on Stella's land. The cabin was well equipped and set up, and her land is so beautiful. She's thoughtfully designed and decorated the cabin; it's very cozy and functional. The outdoor tub/shower was an amazing experience. There's a lot to do and explore in the area, and it was just a lovely time all around. Stella is so kind, thoughtful and a really wonderful host. If you are looking for a great down to earth experience in the Apple Gate Valley, I highly recommend staying here. We can't wait to go back. Thanks for having us Stella!

Sweetgrass Cabin
At night the little cabin was delightful aesthetically. The kitchen was great. But sleeping was challenging. The bed is short for someone over 6'3" and it was a hot night so we slept with a noisy window A/C blowing on us. If we'd stayed another night we'd have rolled out our camping mattress and slept in the yurt (where we did our yoga practice in the morning). That would have been lovely, but likely hot too. There were lots of big screen windows in the yurt which could have allowed for plenty of cross ventilation. We loved the semi outdoor bath.

Sweetgrass Cabin
Stella has such a beautiful, peaceful place out here. The cabin is so cozy and had the most comfortable bed - I had a hard time getting up in the mornings! The kitchen is well stocked and ready for cooking, and the outside bathtub/shower was so relaxing!! The whole place was very clean. Stella was communicative and super friendly and sent directions that made check in very easy. Thanks again!!

This little cabin was incredible! Not only was it sparkling clean and comfortable, the property was serene and rejuvenating. Whether you’re religious, spiritual, or just looking for some peace, this is the place to find it! Stella was very welcoming and responsive to messages. She made us feel right at home. The dog, Yara, was a joy to have around. Honestly cannot say enough good things about this place, it’s a must stay!
