Burr Oak Lake
THE LISTING IS NOT ACCURATE
1) THIS IS NOT A FULL HOOK UP - THERE IS NO WATER. MATT IS A LIAR. SEWER HOOK UP IS 25 FEET FROM WHERE YOUR CAMPER WILL BE. You will need a crazy long sewer hose & a long extention cord for your 40/20 amp. NOTE I SAID 40/20 AMPS.
2) MATT WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOU ONCE YOU CALL HIM OUT ON ALL OF THE MISLEADING STATEMENTS IN THIS ADVERT. When he did respond, it was a 2 day wait. I was supposed to be there for 9 days, he stopped responding on day 2. I had to leave multiple times to get water & to shower. I left with 1 more night to go as I was so aggravated by this.
3) THE ELECTRICAL BOX IS ON THE WRONG SIDE. You cannot pull thru. If you back into the space, you will be opening your door to the electrical box & a pile of rotting wood.
4) THE NEIGHBORS across the street are the typical trashy, loud mouthed, engine revving, never ending-screaming match couple everyone hates. They will be screaming at each other very loudly at all hours of the night.
5) I have a Tacoma & a 16ft TT. Pulling up that steep, narrow, gravel road to back my camper in took about an hour because I had to make sure my front end didn't slide off into the 3 ft deep trench dug up & down the already shady road. If you have anything bigger, you won't make it.
6) The fire pit is in fact 12 feet across and absolutely in the way. There are rusty iron bars sticking out of the all sides, we had to build a little wooden house over one side so I didn't slice my Achilles tendon.
7) There is no picnic table & no bins

9ft pit+tires+,debris= false hope
I asked the owner about electric, sewer and water hook up distance from trailer location. I was told 15' for electric, there was sewer we could dump into, but water wasn't turned on at the site. We decided to go anyway, we were only staying 2 nights. GPS took us directly to the site. Once there it was extremely tight. Our trailer is only 12ft long, to say it tested our backing maneuverability skills is an understatement. The dirt drive was slightly wider than a vehicle. There was a 3ft trench next to the drive on the right side. You needed to back at a 90°angle to the left. The electric post and trees limited your room on the right. There was a stone wall and brush on the left. It took several back and forth moves to get into place. This site was listed for RV's up to 45' long with slide out. There is NO way that size would ever get into this spot. Once parked all of the camp access was on the driver's side. There is no way to have an RV door facing the camp. Next you will be parked 5 ft from a 9' circle fire pit that was 2' high of barn stone and roofing tin. The only way you could feel a fire in the pit would be if it were a bonfire. Beside this bon fire pit is a cleared area with landscape fabric covering it, no picnic table. 10' to 15' up a hill was the sewer drain 2ft off the ground. Good luck draining your black tank up hill. This spot was covered with tires, rusty metal, old water tank, and other debris everywhere. here was also poison oak. We left.

Trail around the lake is just across the street from the site. The fire pit is huge--about 12' diameter. We were awoken at 1 AM by a revving truck engine and loud music from a nearby house.

Disappointed
Had a hard time finding the site and was not able to find it at all, tried calling to get help from the host and never answered or got back to us. Really disappointed.
Burr Oak Lake
Less space than expected
We had a larger group of 6 planning to camp here in mostly tents and and were disappointed to find that most of the 2 acres advertised is a densely wooded area not suited for camping, I think this would be a great spot for truck camping or just a single tent but any larger and it would begin to feel cramped. It was also pretty close to two homes one of which it almost seemed you were in the backyard of with only a few trees being your buffer. Overall not a great spot for a large group but suitable for up to maybe four people that don't mind proximity to homes.

Great site, great visit.
Excellent spot. Host was reachable for questions and very helpful. Site was excellent. Only 3 cars went by on the road. (Actually the same car 3 times. Guess he lives higher up the hill. ) the electric hookup was a luxury that as a truck bed tent camper I wasn’t used to. Great spot for an RV that can get there. Area roads are hilly and right in the turns. Which added to the trip for me. I’ll save this to my favorites. I’ll stay there again!
