Hike, eat, then forest bathe in the forest out back! In the Catskill foothills, 20 min. from Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Mt. Preserve, Vernoy Kill Falls trails, swimming holes & Ashokan Reservoir rail trails, enjoy this forest platform with fire circle near a shared rustic schoolhouse and firehouse on 4 1/2 acres for a mountain "retreat" with two of us and other guests. 35 min. from Kingston restaurants and 15 min. from local breweries like Arrowwood & Rough Cut. If you are here for our monthly woman's fire and identify as a woman, you are also welcome to join. Our neighbors include horses, llamas and goats. Fishing, hiking, kayaking, biking are all accessible under 20 minutes from our central location. Woodstock, Kingston, New Paltz are all half an hour to forty minutes' drive so you can explore many upstate towns. Rosendale and High Falls are under twenty minutes away too!Pitch your tent on or near the platform next to a fire circle on a rock ledge with a hammock in the pine trees for a forest retreat. It's private except for the turkeys, ravens and deer, and once a month when I host a woman's circle near the site. I will let you know if it is happening the weekend you visit. If you identify as a woman you are welcome to it! It is a three minute walk partially uphill from the main house, which is an old firehouse and schoolhouse for the hamlet of Tobasco. You are welcome to use the outdoor shower near the house, and the bathroom in the hallway upstairs. You can also hang out in the old firehouse garage or behind the house at the fire circle near the visionary artist Stefan Lucas' dragon. We are half an hour away from Woodstock, Kingston and New Paltz, so you can escape to explore upstate towns from your forest retreat.
