L'isola Farm
Lions & Tigers & Biscuits, OH MY!
Okay, perhaps no lions or tigers, but you are in the wilderness and the rest is what follows:
Jamie is a wonder & her land is a beaut. What's more? She has a sweet cat named Biscuit who wants to love up on people and walk with them up and down the driveway. Furthermore, as we were in our tent, we let Biscuit know that we weren't okay with him staying in the tent with us but if he'd like to sleep out on the platform and watch out for night life, we would love to have him and would continue chatting with him - and whaddya know? He was our guard cat all night long and in the morning we found him curled up outside our front door - then straight into more petting and loving up on his humans. What a wonder and an extra special addition to a wonderfully magical off grid location.
And Jamie is off grid - she has a compostable toilet, rain water collection with a berkey filter, an open air kitchen and dining room, and other structures on her land which were all built by her using earthen plasters from the land itself. Some of them even nestled into the natural rock structures which already existed.
If you are interested in off grid life, and ways of living with the land - this is your place to be - THIS is your place to check out and stay - and Jamie is so open and gracious and such a great host - as is Biscuit. If you are wanting more a Glamp experience this may not be for you and you will miss out on some serious magic in Missouri.
We had such a wonderful time here, even though it was just for the one night. But even with just the one night, we felt more than welcomed onto the land. What a wonder.
