The Lady Asha Yurt/Treehouse!
Perfection~ Glamping with animals..
We had the most beautiful time this week, staying in the Lady Yasha yurt, at Hummingbird Hollow. Susan is such a wonderful host. She genuinely cared & went above and beyond our entire trip.
Susan made it a priority that our time spent there was PERFECT! Day or night, she was there making things that much more convenient.
As a single mother, having debilitating MS, & two teen boys in tow, I went in knowing this was going to be a difficult trip on my body, but Susan was always there to help & lend a hand.
We arrived late to a beautifully illuminated tent, fully stocked, & ready for us. We woke up the next morning to a rooster crowing in the distance. After breakfast, the boys went off exploring. They absolutely loved the donkeys! After hours of exploring they spent some time swaying in the hammocks waching the horses, piglets, goats, chickens & dogs roam around them. The animals are friendly & loved getting the extra attention. Almost as much as we loved giving it to them.
The shower house was clean & set up very nicely. It was just a short walk from the yurt. Steaming hot showers were definitely a bonus after playing with all the animals in the dirt all day! And the compost toilet was easy & odorless.
It got down to the 40's our 2nd night but with the heater & cozy beds, stocked with extra blankets, we stayed warm & comfortable.
This place truly replenished my soul. Hummingbird Hollow is a rare gem that I'm so grateful to have found. I loved entering this wonderland

Fun on the farm
This place is now on our top place to camp in the fall. The animal free roam through the camp but do not intrude on your space. The horses were gentle when you approached them and by Sunday we had the shy piggies eating from our hands. Keep in mind this is a farm and all the things that come with farm living. I recommend wearing rubber boots or shoes you can easily rinse off..lol the girls had fun splashing in the creek. My only advice is to talk to your kids and make them understand how to behave around animals. This a sanctuary and these animals do not deserve to be chased and taunted. They are living out the rest of their days. Unfortunately we witnessed it with a group of unsupervised kids and it was disheartening because the animals are very well behaved. We will definitely be back to relax. Susan was a great host and even delivered our fire wood to our site! That never happened anywhere else we stayed.

Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors
My partner and I had such a great time at Hummingbird Hollow! Arrived around 4pm and walked down to the Meramec River after getting settled, then had fun visiting with all the pigs, goats, horses, and donkeys (quite a few were open to pets too!) I really loved the rock painting table, I'm sure it was geared more towards the younger guests but even at 23, I had a lovely morning watching the animals wake up/roam while I painted. Susan even let me hold a 5 day old piglet before we left! Made so many amazing memories, and will definitely be coming back!
